I donated to a breast cancer organization for my mother and my aunt's mother's day gifts. To not just hand them a piece of paper, I had the idea of also getting them pink flowers. Which ones should I be looking for that are inexpensive yet beautiful for mother's day?
I could spare some cash but I gave up most of my money on the donation for both women......

Answer
I would get each one a pink gerber (or gerbera) daisy. They are a little more expensive, but they are beautiful so you can get away with giving just one :-)
They are nice and big, and the stems are thick so you could even jazz it up by wrapping the stem in a pink ribbon and attaching your own little tag that says something like "Happy Mothers Day...A Donation was made in your name..." or whatever you want.

How often do you get a mammogram if you are 50 years old?

I would like to hear what all of the woman out there in the world are doing personally rather than just reading a list of requirements and statistics on the home page for breast cancer.

Answer
Hi I'm 50 now but, I made a promise to myself that when I turn 40 I'll start getting mammograms. That was gonna be my gift to me. Well 40 came I kept my promise. Everything was good. I never told you I'm a workaholic. So before you know it my breast start hurting and I just shrug it off cause I'm a workaholic. Now I'm 48 only ever got that one mammo at 40. Went to specialist she got on the phone right away. With in 2-wks I started chemo then mastectomy then radiation. Plus because the cancer was so advanced I still have to do chemo/infusions for 4 more mths. I had no history of cancer in my family. They say if you have family history get checked 10yrs prior to their dx. Best of luck to you and I hope It was helpful. So if no history a Mammo every year plus you should get a Bone Density test done too.
