My family usually gives them money or a gift card for christmas and we always give them
a challenge to open it. Last year we covered it in plaster and they had to hammer it out. I want to change it up a bit and not use ducktape or super glue all over it.

I say get a really big box ( so that it looks like a big present) and put 4 or 5 smaller boxes inside of each other. Wap the boxes up really well with lots of tape and wrapping paper. When you get to the actually gift wrap it in multible layers of paper and tape. I've always wanted to do this to somone but i never did. :) hope this helps have a merry christmas and happy holidays.

Are thank you cards necessary for birthday party gifts?

I have always felt that thank you cards are proper etiquette for any party, whether it be baby shower, wedding shower, birthday party, graduation gifts, retirement gifts whatever. But I am shocked at some of the answers from one of my contacts questions. Some of them have said that it's only necessary to thank the person to their face, but not send a card. I've always thanked the person in person and also sent a card later on...is our culture getting away from proper etiquette these days...I mean I can't even get rsvp's from people anymore?

When somebody I knew got married, apparently she said thank you for the wedding present and refused to send out thank you letters. Her reason? She said thank you for the presents when they were in the wedding line. Family's response? Not repeatable on here!

I always write thank you letters for any gifts that I or my children receive and I get really annoyed when people don't bother.

My SIL / nephew is a culprit of this and if my husband wasn't around, I wouldn't get him any presents and when asked, I would state that as they have never thanked me for the presents I had to assume that he didn't like them - therefore I saved myself the time.

What are pros and cons of this program? Some parents are sending their kids to gifted schools also. Im an 8th grader and at my middle school we have gifted. Gifted is very hard based off what my few friends in the class say. Usually the gifted students are accepted because they have a different way of thinking or are realllllly smart. if you can get into gifted great, but if not, its not big deal. at my school we also have challened and non challenged classes. the non challenged classes are easier, and have the kids who arnt as smart or eager to learn while the challenged classes, the students tend to be smarter and want to learn more and are willing to do more work. i am in the challenged classes and i think its wonderful because i am with students who dont distract the class and we get to learn reallly hard stuff.

My daughter is in a program at a private school for gifted children. I think that it teaches children the concept of getting a good education is very important in today's society. It is best to encourage a child's mind to grow beyond what is taught at school. If you taught your child advanced concepts they too would be in the gifted program. The question is could they handle it? Each child is different. Without Kumon would some of these kids be in the program? Probably not but all the help you can give your child is worth it. I want my child to do the best she can so that when she attends college she understands basic study skills so she can excel in her studys and become whatever she wants.

You were just like me when I turned thirteen last year. Since I'm a classy woman who is naturally professional, my dad got me a Stella McCartney designer perfume for 80 or 90 dollars. I still have it and it smells like fresh red roses. I think a nice wrist-watch is a good idea too. If you like art, you can ask for sketchbooks and materials. Or maybe like me, go to barnes and noble or from nook, buy a couple books like Brain Jack by Brian Falkener, Water For Elephants, or Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. Hope this helps! :)

My sister is having a baby any day now, and someone told me that for close family members such as myself it is expected that you give another gift when the baby is born if you already gave one at the shower, is this true? I don't want to be rude and not give another if ettiquette says I should. Just wanted to be sure though because I'm a 20 year old college student, so I don't have much money. At the shower I gave 3 fairly small gifts totalling around $60. Is that enough? Did your close family members give you another gift once your child was born? thanks!

The stylist would have to cash in the gift card (which usually involves a PIN or some other security number), then take the tip out of the register, which would be very inconvenient. So cash would be preferred.

you have to ask at the front desk if they will take $8 in cash and give it to the stylist as a tip in exchange for the gift card balance. I would call and ask if you can include the tip when paying with a gift card. your best bet is just to bring cash, it's best to tip in cash because then the stylist doesn't have to claim it on their taxes.

Where: This gift is a bit aggravating to get. It is "found" in Dust town in Orzammar. I believe you first have to complete the nug wrangler miniquest (but I could be mistaken). Then you need to speak to the idle dwarf and he will say he can catch one for you (for a price).

Where: I believe it's found in the circle tower, though I can't remember where exactly.

Flemeth's Grimoire
Who: Morrigan
Where: Flemeth's hut. This only becomes available if Morrigan has fairly high approval. It's simpler to retrieve the black grimoire first in my opinion as she will ask you to get it for her otherwise before directing you to this one.

Asala (A Sword)
Who: Sten
Where: Technically located in Dwyn's House in Redcliff Village. This is one of the more convoluted gifts as it requires you to first gain Sten's approval enough that he will talk about why he killed the farmer's and what happened to his companions. After this you will have to go to Lake Calenhad and speak to a scavenger (standing very near the entrance) who will direct you to the frostback mountains where Feryn will be waiting. If you have Sten with you you can tell him to tear of Feryn's arms (he won't, but it's amusing conversation), and, after some similar persuasion, he will direct you to Dwyn in Redcliff. If you didn't save redcliff then it will be locked in a chest in hiw house. If you haven't saved it yet then I think Dwyn just gives it to you. If you DID save it then Dwyn will give it to you after some persuasion (you may have to bribe/threaten him, I cannot remember).

I can't remember any plot items for Oghren or Shale.

a picture board is a great idea- I did one for my moms 60th party and she had a great time showing off her pics to everyone! Go get one of those tri-fold display boards and put tons of pics of her throughout the years on it- or you can make a slide show and play it on someones laptop computer- whichever works better for you. For decorating I just used my moms favorite colors- pink, purple, and silver accents- we had fake flower petals scattered down the center of the tables and a set of pretty candles next to a vase of lillies. I also found small travel candles for 50 cents and had one of those at each table setting as a party favor for the guests. We had balloon arrangements all over the room and hung streamers and some birthday banners too. I had also found on Ebay a book all about the year she was born and we had that on the picture table so people could look through that also and I found a Life magazine from th week she was born on there too (I gave that as a gift to her and she loved it).
so as far as decorations- go with something that you think she would like, maybe vases of her favorite flowers all over, or make it a theme relating to her favorite hobby and decorate along those lines (gardening, bingo, quilting- whatever!) This is a good time also to get some family pictures taken so make sure to gather up the whole group before people start to leave to get some good family shots.

I would say it is what you can afford. A place setting of china might be aproximately $85 - $100. If you choose to give her a monetary gift, maybe incorporate it with a bottle of champagne, champagne glasses, wine and cheese in a honeymoon basket. You could put a handwritten wish with it in a card earmarked for spending money on her honeymoon. I like to wrap baskets like this in toule with a nice ribbon on top. I'd try to put some real thought behind the monetary gift. One of the things that is nice about wedding gifts is that you think of that person every time you use the item. So she will think of you every time she uses or sees the champagne glasses and remember the nice basket you assembled for her.

Sorry abou your dad. Looks like your mom will have to alter some of her jobs. I am an older woman and would recomend an electric tiller, potting bench or an outdoor watering station. The tiller is light weight, there are a bunch of benches and the watering is handy when you're pulling weeds on an easier after the rain day and don't want to mess up inside. Good luck!

I guess I was to poor to know the difference. I have always lived off my garden and fruit trees. Even today we have a 20x20 feet garden. We buy no vegetables or fruits (except watermelons) from the grocery stores. I can taste the chemicals farmers use on their vegetables they sell in grocery stores. A person could easily live off of a 10x10 feet (no melons) garden.

We give alway more vegetables and fruits than we can eat. This year we canned over 30 quart jars of tomatoes. Each Christmas, our relatives and friends will receive a big basket as a gift. Inside is a red and white checked table cloth, 1 quart jar mixed yellow and red tomatoes, 1 quart jar pickled beets, 1 quart jar pickled green cherry tomatoes, 1 quart jar carrots, 1 quart jar plum jam, 5 Ruby Red Gradefruit, 10 lemons, a bag of dried figs, and 15 Mandarin Oranges. They love us at Christmas. I also have nine rare fruit trees.

In order to live all year round, you would need to live in a place like Southern California. Today my garden still has tomatoes, green beans, garlic, onions, eggplants, brussel sprouts, and bell peppers.

You would need good soil. I use no chemicals or pesticides. I use home made compost and chicken manure to enrich my soil. Good soil produces twice the yields of bad soil.

If you wanted a variety all year long, you would have to learn to can your vegetables and fruits. We have enough canned vegetables to last us all winter.

Your question: A 10x10 feet garden is more than enough area. If you want four (4) dwaft fruit trees, than you would need a 20x20 feet area.

I am going to Ho Chi Minh City to meet a Vietnamese girl that my friend introduced me to. I will meet her family and understand that it is a custom to give gifts when meeting them. The problem is the traditional gifts for the men (alcohol and tobacco) won't work in this situation as the family doesn't drink or smoke.

I was born and lived in Vietnam for 12 years, and have traveled back twice in the past 3 years. From my experience and talking to neighbor, anything made in Europe or US is a great gift. Make sure the item is not made in CHINA as they are considered poor quality and cheap. A big box of good chocolate, electronics, fancy cookies, cookwares ( avoid knives because some Vietnamese considered the act as cutting all ties), watches (Guess, CK, Levis, Tommy... people know those brands), cosmetics (make sure they are made in Europe or US). Money can be given if you know the girl well and consider her family cuz its very awkward to give money as well as the other side will feel awkward receiving. To sums up, food items that are nicely packaged, electronics, jewelry (does not have to be extravagant) or everyday house items you might find in target or macy's. Hopes that helps.

you really need to be more specific.it's no hassle to post items to the us,just do it.if you want to take it with you when you fly out you have restrictions on taking into the us more that a litre [or so] of alchohol duty free. if you want to take in more do it. declare it and pay the duty. why bother tho it's cheap to buy in us anyway.
be aware tho with the weight of your bag.anything over your allowance and it costs heaps.alternately stuff it in a wooden crate and ship 3 months ahead.
