If you want to go with something personal and memorable - you can get really cheap custom gifts with a photo of your choice at http://www.attitudereadjustment.com . They have many choices - from clothing to mugs, umbrellas, mousepads.. You just upload the picture you want printed on it, and they do it. Feel free to be creative and search for some nice and memorable picture on the Internet. They do take 3-4 weeks to deliver, but for their prices it's well worth the wait. Best of all, they offer free shipping! =)

Christmas gifts ideas for coworkers?

Van

Hello,

I need some suggestions/ideas on what I could buy for my colleagues, and where online I can buy them and have them delivered fast.
I have 8 colleagues, they're all women (age ranging from 28 to 45), we work in an office environment (Accounting office) - and I wouldn't like to spend over a $100 for all the gifts.
your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Answer
I am not an expert on gifts. And it is really difficult when it is an office. I have worked places that outlaw gifts because it does put people in a fix. If you give something too expensive, people feel bad because of what they gave. If it is too cheap, you get people upset. If you can do it, you could give something that you made. The people recognize the effort and it is hard to judge the value. We even did that with the kids when they were growing up. If you could get things that mean something to the area that you grew up in, it can give people something to remember you by if and when you leave. Certainly there are woman specific things like perfume or a cream that you think they might like. But that is often people specific and tastes are different. (at least this question was in English)

Gift Ideas For My Boyfriend?

Aimee

I need some advice for what to get my boyfriend. I have a few things in mind, but I'm not sure how they'll work out. We're both fifteen and have only been dating for 2 weeks now. The gifts are for Valentine's Day.
(Yes, I do know that Valentine's Day is over, but we go to different schools and live 45-ish minutes away from each other, so we decided to just make plans and create another Valentine's Day.)
1. He loves the color green (I figured I could wrap whatever I get up in green.)
2. I'm getting him pretzels (It's a joke we had before we started dating. Along with this, I think I'm going to get him a box of air heads because he's my blonde air head.)
3. He loves the beach (I'm not quite sure if I can incorporate anything beach-y. We live near Pittsburgh, PA... there's no beach near here.)
4. He has a Kindle, PS3, Ipod Touch, and Cell Phone.
With that, I know that he plays games like GTA, COD, and Battlefield 3.
He's like obsessed with his Kindle, but he's not an avid book reader.
(He watches The Walking Dead, but I'm not sure if he's REALLY into it, one of those people who can't miss an episode. I saw that there was a video game out for it on the PS3 and I figured I'd pre-order it for him and everything. Similarities to COD to a point? Any opinions on this?)
5. His favorite song is Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down, but he's not really completely into the band.
6. His favorite desserts are Ice Cream (Rocky Road), Doughnuts, and Cake. (I figured I could make cupcakes but...)
7. He loves the Regular Looney Toons and Beavis and Butthead.
8. His dream job is to be an actor
9. He does Karate
10. Our first date was iceskating (I saw online this cute idea of making an invitation for a date with just the two of us. I think I'm going to do that.)

I already made him a homemade card and do have those ideas listed above, but I don't know how good those ideas are. I know he'll appreciate anything, but still. I'm not a really good gift person. Sorry it's so long, but all the details are really just to explain his likes. Should I go with my ideas, or do you have other ones?

Answer
Don't focus so much on the gift. Focus on what the gift represents. It should be something that is practical, that he'll use often, to remind him of you and a special day you gave him on valentines. The real gift is yourself, and your fulfillment of his needs. The best valentines he could have, therefore, is one where you fulfill all of those needs and show him you can continue to do so.

All guys have the same four basic needs. They are food, sex, ego, and rest.

Food is quite literally food. For guys food is equivalent to love, for a very simple reason. The first woman who ever loved him was his mother, and she fed him. Those concepts are forever linked, starting from the womb. If you give him food, homecooked you made yourself not something you just bought, he'll know that you care about him, and that you can provide for his physical needs.

The second physical need he has is for sex. Now you're both young so you may not be sexually active yet, but for guys sex is more than just intercourse. Really any physical contact with you is going to be interpreted by his male brain as sex. Holding your hand, slow dancing with you, a hug, that's all going to fulfill his need for sex. So on valentines, and just as often as possible, have physical contact with your boyfriend, even if it's fairly PG. Depending on the guy, his maturity, and his preferences, different levels of physical contact may or may not satisfy his needs. Your guy might be satisfied with just a simple kiss, a full-on make-out session, or even more. Whatever you're both comfortable doing, you should give your boyfriend on valentines to show him you can take care of his physical need for intimacy.

The two psychological needs all guys have start with ego. Ego is his self-esteem, his feeling of importance and value, specifically with regards to his relationship with you. All guys in relationships need to feel that they're valued in the relationship, that they are irreplaceable, and that only they can satisfy you. You may feel your boyfriend already has a big ego, but I guarantee that where you are concerned, he is vulnerable and unsure of himself. Guys are programmed, genetically and socially, to want to please their romantic partners. If we are failing to do so, or just get that impression, we are crushed. The best way to feed your boyfriend's ego is to let him know how important he is to you, how great of a guy he is for you. The best way to destroy your boyfriend's ego is to compare him to other guys, or criticize him personally. It's perfectly okay to criticize his actions, but make sure it's just his actions. Don't call him names if he's done something wrong, just tell him he did something wrong and ask him to change that specific behavior. If he does something right, praise him and praise the behavior. Giving a guy good feedback will keep his ego happy and keep him keeping you happy. For valentines, take some time alone with him to tell him what a fantastic boyfriend he is, with specifics. Let him know that he's the only guy you'd ever want.

The second psychological need is rest. When a guy chases (courts, woos, dates) a girl, it wears him out. All that time and effort he puts into you and your relationship, it's all to make you happy and win you over. He's trying to catch you, that's why he's chasing. But no guy can run forever before he collapses or gives up the chase. Periodically, you need to make it clear to him that he's caught you, and you're not going anywhere. It's okay to make him chase you a bit more from time to time, guys expect that, but once he's won you over you need to give him rest. Let him know it's okay to take care of his other needs, outside the relationship. He needs friends, hobbies, sports, etc. Make sure he makes time for those other activities, and let him know that you'll wait for him patiently to resume the chase when he's rested up. The more rested and balanced he is, the more energy he'll have for you, so it's win-win.

Satisfy all four of his needs in a big way on valentines, and only after all that, give him your present to remind him of that really great day. The present should be practical, something he'll use often, and every time he uses it he'll remember he's with this really great girl who satisfies all four of his needs. Bring him some treats, touch him and let him touch you, tell him how great he is, and give him permission to hang out with his friends and not attend to your every need. By the time you give him a gift at the end of the day, he'll be so thrilled with you.

expensive gift for boyfriend?

Soha

well...hes turning 16 and we've been together for 9 months...i really like him and wanna get him something special.
he's the rich type and he's really into high end brand name clothing ,i don't want to make him something like a scrapbook and stuff ( already done all that) so i wanna get him something good but also not that expensive

Answer
Does he like cars or bikes? You could get him a book that catalogues the history of his favorite make.

And special gifts don't have to be expensive... If you wanna get him sth expensive, save it for the anniversary :)

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary when we were both 17, and I got him a stainless steel cross. It was on sale, under a hundred dollars. Try to look for good deals like that. My boyfriend is a pretty serious Catholic, so the cross is doubly special to him. He wears it every day! :)

I like to go for gifts that last long and make my guy think of me every time he picks it up (rather than the expensive one-time gift that he may lose interest in.)

Try to think of things your guy is into, and think about the things you could get him that pertain to his hobbies and interests. Like my boyfriend and his Catholicism. So in the case of my guy, he's also into go-karting and camping. so I could get him a go-karting helmet with his name on it, or a map with a list of all the great campsites in our state, etc, you get the idea. :)

Books also make really great gifts. Physical books, not iBooks or Kindle books or whatever. You can write an inscription on the inside cover. :) My boy loves that.

I hope sharing my experience helped give you some ideas. :)

Which sign has given u the most expensive gift ..?

Srivy

..which is the most generous sign in the zodiac?
Shoot for the moon, i knew there would be some cheapos out here who would take the question in the wrong sense!

I understand that generosity can come cheap, like love. giving lots of love doesnt cost anything. I was just curious as to which sign has given u an expensive gift. Yeah, it requires a very broad mind and good heart and money to give expensive gifts to someone, all the while knowing that the recipient might or might not return them with an equally good gift!
Dontansky, im not a dumb a**. U can choose to not answer instead of calling names. U always have a choice. I refuse to answer questions i dont like.
This is for fun....sorry to those who are offended or afraid to answer.

Answer
Leo gives the most expensive gift hands down!!! Leo is also the most generous of all the sign. Sure there are other signs that are very generous, but Leo is this way naturally all the time. Leo's don't mind helping anyone. Just don't cross them because you can become an enemy for life! I have tons of Leo's in my family and my man is a Leo. Their all the most generous in the family, and my man gives the most expensive gifts he can give. Sometimes I think why does he spend so much money? But, he says that he wants to give me the best. But, know that a Leo will give you the world and buy you expensive things only if the truly love you. It doesn't even have to be in a love relationship with a Leo. It could be a Leo parent, relative, or friend. If they love you and there are no qualms between you and that Leo then all is good. I like Leo's a lot. I get along with them great. I can handle their strong personalities and egos. Their dramatic, but hey what would this world be like without it! I'm a Sagittarius which is a fire sign like Leo, and Aries so I guess that's why I can get along with both these signs pretty well. As a Sagittarian I'm very generous when I have the means to help someone. I genuinely want to make people happy. But, I think Leo's have me beat!

P.S
Just my two cents!!!

My birthday gift--$100 gift card from target?

my Q's

My husband gave me a $100 gift card from target as my birthday gift this month. Any suggestions on what I can buy..? I usually dont spend that much.. but he wants to make sure, I buy something for myself and not for the family.. as always!!!
I would like to add that; the purpose of my husband choosing a gift card was we have had acouple of instances before where he bought a few things( very exp gifts) and I did'nt really like it as much...!! So the gift card was a safe way to handle the ocassion and leave the final gift to my choice..!!

Answer
I used to think that gift cards were impersonal and would be offended by receiving them. But then I got one as a gift and realized that the persons intentions was so that I would be able to get the things that I wanted, on top of being able to go shopping and have a day for myself. The possibilites are endless and shopping for yourself when it is something that you rarely do for one reason or another is wonderful. Have fun, look around, and once you see it you will know.

websites for easy to make christmas gifts?

Lisa C

I am on maternity leave this Christmas and I do not have alot of moey to spend on christmas gifts this year. Can anyone give me any ideas or web sites where I can make cheap christmas presents?

Answer
Maybe you can bake some holiday treats and add a cute story or poem. I wish I knew who you needed to give gifts to. Also, check out www.homemakingcottage.com for more ideas. Here is one thing I looked up and found on the site....
Fresh baked bread, rolls, breadsticks, or cookies. (Send your recipe along with it.)

Free or cheap gift ideas...

Share your favorite thought or scripture. Write it on a nice paper and attach a magnet on the back.

Stationary and stamps always make a nice gift, especially for someone leaving on a mission or going away to college.

Stencil on an apron, dish towel, pot holder, pillowcase or t-shirt.

Balloon bouquets, Birthday banners made on the computer.

Fresh fruits, vegetables, or flowers from your garden. Since this is so late in the year I would suggest canned items that were from your garden. You can decorate the top with a square of Christmas fabric and tie with twine.

A basket of small sample items. (Shampoo & Conditioner, lotion, bubble bath, soap, etc.)

Coupon for free babysitting, window washing, ironing, etc.

Take dinner to a friend in a picnic basket with paper plates, paper cups, napkins, and plastic utensils.

A bottle of 7-up or root beer ties with balloons and ribbon decorated for the Christmas season.

Give items to go with a favorite hobby. (film & batteries for a photographer, etc.)

List all of the reasons you are thankful for someone and why you love them. Fill a jar with candy pieces and the notes you wrote for them.

Mirror with a note. "Everyone enjoys the goodness you reflect."

Tape record some of your children's stories. Present the tape with the books so they can read along.

Have a "Souper" day! Give a can of soup and box of crackers.

Here is a gift basket idea.
Movie basket
Includes: Gift certificates to video store, microwave flavored popcorn, peanuts, and pop.

Anniversary Gift?

girl_to_ta

OK, so my boyfriend and I will have been together one whole year in July. We met when I lived in his city. I moved back home (about a 9 hr drive) 7 months into the relationship. We continued to do that long distance relationship and now we're hiting the one year mark! It happens to fall on a week day. I cant go visit him until the weekend. So, do any of you have any suggestions on what I can send him on the actual day of our anniversary? Do guys like recieving flowers?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Answer
um, i dont think guys like flowers. and i guess its kinda too old fashioned. here r a few ideas:

if he's the kind of guys who like to play boardgames, this one is a great game, it looks really fun:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=613&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D613%26occid%3D936&pid=69222

u can buy it thro dat website and it's cheap too. and u can also put a pic of u and him on the board game too, and dat would be even more romantic:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=613&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D613%26occid%3D936&pid=115173
u can have a nice dinner and play the game.

u can also buy him a digital photo frame, it's kinda pricey but u can find the cheap which is about $70.

or if u want to be even more romantic and want to show ur feelings here r some ideas:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=614&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D614%26occid%3D936&pid=70343
and write a card for him dat says"i love u".
and this one is really romantic also:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=614&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D614%26occid%3D936&pid=124692
omg! and this one is so cool and romantic and cheap too:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%
2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=25932
and this one is so sexy:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=61053
but dont buy dat for him, if u havnt had sex with him. cuz u wouldnt want him to think dat u want sex!!!
and here's a blanket:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=101625
and here's the black one:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=101632

and if u dotn like non of these, here's the website:
http://www.findgift.com/

dont forget the wine bottle. and dotn forget to tell him, cuz it'b be really awkward if ur the only one who brings stuff and he dotn even remember it.

Me and my Girlfriend are coming up on our first anniversary and I want to get her something special, but reasonably priced. I know she loves Zebras, and I was wondering if the world had an brilliant ideas for something zebra themed that would be romantic and appropriate for an anniversary gift.

Should I give back the $200 birthday gift he gave me?

*Tiger Lil

So, for my birthday (which isn't until summer), this guy gave me a reeeeaally nice backpacking backpack. (and he left the price tag on (which was stupid) of $233). (we are in college if that makes any difference) We had dated, hung out all the time, etc., but I would never commit, and I finally said that it would be better if we were just friends, because I didnt feel the same about him as he did to me. Even after all of this he gives me this really expensive backpacking backpack (I really like the outdoors, and me, and a large group including him are going backpacking later this year). When he gave it to me he said "this doesn't mean anything, afterall, i gave one to my other friend too" (his best guy friend whose was not as expensive). At first I thought, "well, he has already been told several times, and my best friend had told him that doing this wouldn't change anything between us (to which he said 'I know, I just want to do something nice for her, as a friend' (even though he probably wouldn't get her one), so ill just not make a big deal and accept it. So I thought that I should just accept it, and I did. Now my mother is saying that ladie's dont do that, and that I should give it back. My dad had said to just keep it cause he's got a hard head..." sooo....as you can see, i need some good advice. and if you think i should return it, whats a classy way to do so?
Thank you!

Answer
If you feel that it's a sincere friendship-type gift, and you want to keep it, keep it. It's not so much about whether ladies keep gifts, since this gift wasn't given to you under the pretext of getting closer to you. You already told him you two were just friends.

But if YOU feel there are "strings attached" to the gift, give it back. You don't want to feel in someone's debt, especially when you've tried to make it abundantly clear that you are not interested in him "in that way." If you sense he's trying to bribe you into getting closer or win you over with expensive gifts, give it back.

You will have to use your judgment on this one, based on your feelings around the context of the situation.

About Twilight By Stephine Myer?

Alli

The covers on each book mean something. I know that the First one Twilight meant the apple of temptation. But what about the others?
Thanks Mike!!

Answer
Twilight- The apple on the cover of Twilight represents "forbidden fruit." Stephenie used the scripture from Genesis (located just after the table of contents) because she loved the phrase "the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil." Isn't this exactly what Bella ends up with? A working knowledge of what good is, and what evil is. The nice thing about the apple is it has so many symbolic roots. You've got the apple in Snow White, one bite and you're frozen forever in a state of not-quite-death... Then you have Paris and the golden apple in Greek mythologyâlook how much trouble that started. Apples are quite the versatile fruit. In the end, Stephenie loved the beautiful simplicity of the picture. To me it says: choice

New Moon- The flower is a ruffled tulip. The apple cover has a lot of meaning to Stephenie, but she did not pick the New Moon cover. Something to keep in mind if you intend to embark on a career as a writer: lots of things you might expect to be under your control are not. Covers, for example. Those are mostly up to the publisher and the marketing and sales departments. What the tulip means is unknown.

Eclipse- This cover was also chosen by the publishers instead of Stephenie Meyer herself. So the definite meaning is unknown, but I personally think that the torn ribbon represents how Bella is torn between Jacob and Edward, just a thought

breaking dawn; was the Queen piece on teh chess board was in front, as the largest piece, and pure white, to symbolize Bella and her new role. She has immense power that came not only with her being able to control herself so well as a newborn, the stregth of which being a newborn entails, and of course, her significant role as a shield which was able to save them all from the Vulturi. Not only after she gains imortaility, but just carrying Renesmee alone took a great deal of strength to endure, adn she "lived" through it all. The color white generally represents pureness, which in Bella's case, couldn't be more spot on. Along with her puritity, I feel it represents her compasion and caring, she truly is a kind person and would do just about anything for the ones she loves. As far as the red pawn goes in the background.. thats something I'm still working on deciphering myself. My theory, for the moment any how, it still needs more thought, is that it represents the Vulturi somewhat. And how their role was reversed upon Bella's imortality and the Cullen's banding together wiht several other covens and families to stand against the Vulturi. The red shows the taintedness of their ways, the lust for power and opression, and the blood which they need for survial, but also spill calously in order to protect themselves and hold their position. In the book they were forced into a situation in which they did not have the upperhand and had then became pawns in the game taht pursued, much thanks to Alice and her finding of Huilen and Nahuel, and also Bella for throwing them off by rendering Jane's and Alec's gifts useless in harming them.

i dont know if these are true for defiant, i've just read and heard peoples thoughts and decided if i thought that was true or not.

jamie xx

Did you hear about the fellow that was talking to his buddy, and he said, "I don't know what to get my wife for her birthday - she has everything, and besides, she can afford to buy anything she wants, so I'm stumped." His buddy said, "I have an idea - why don't you make up a certificate saying she can have 60 minutes of great $ex, any way she wants it - she'll probably be thrilled." So the fellow did. The next day his buddy said, "Well? Did you take my suggestion?" "Yes, I did," said the fellow. "Did she like it?" His buddy asked. "Oh yes! she jumped up , thanked me, kissed me on the forehead and ran out the door, yelling "I'll be back in an hour!!"

Should I get a visa gift card? 10 points! Thank You :)?

Q. Hi there,
I'm planning on buying a visa gift card from copps or walmart. I need to purchase some things online and this sounds like a good idea. Has anyone tried it or is currently using it? Any fees? I called Visa and they said there's just one fee when you buy it between $3-$8. But I need to know more about it. Can anyone give me some info on that?
Thank you! I appreciate your answers. 10 points best answer :)

Answer
The Pros and Cons of Gift Cards

Thereâs always a lot of fuss this time a year about gift cards. Some people love them, and some people hate them. Iâm sort of in the middle.

On the one hand, I continue to believe that anything a big company wants you to purchase is probably not in your best interest. That is, if a mega-corporation is all fired up to sell gift cards, you can bet theyâre a profit center, which probably means theyâre rigged against consumers.
On the other hand, gift cards are convenient. Theyâre easy to give, and theyâre generally easy to use. There are many circumstances in which gift cards make great gifts.
I like to receive gift cards for certain stores. Over the past year, for example, Iâve accumulated $185 in Landâs End gift cards, and I wouldnât be surprised to receive more this Christmas. I havenât used any of them yet, though Iâve checked to be sure Iâm not going to get dinged because of it. Sometime this spring, after my birthday, Iâm going to have an on-line shopping spree â and it wonât cost me a dime.

Thatâs one problem with gift cards â here are some others:

They expire. Some gift cards carry an expiration date. The recipient must use the card within a certain amount of time, or the card becomes unusable.
They have fees. Some gift cards â especially those issued by banks â carry fees for various events. Some even charge to use the card. (In August, Tim shared how a gift card from Bank of America carried fees for checking the balance.)
They can be difficult to use. Did you buy a CompUSA gift card for somebody this Christmas? Oops. CompUSA is going out of business â suddenly thereâs a very real deadline to use that card. And what if you buy a gift card for somebody but the store doesnât do business where the recipient lives? Not all gift cards are convenient.
They carry an obligation. When you give a tie to your father, thereâs nothing else he has to do use the gift. But when you give a gift card, your father must go to the store to use it. This often means that he has to spend additional money to find something he likes. Gift cards can force the recipient to spend money on his own gift!

Gift Ideas for 18th birthday?

Leah H

Hi. I'll be turning 18 on Saturday, the 11th.
My mom has been asking me to tell her or make a list of what I would like for my birthday. And honestly, as crazy as it sounds, i can't really think of much. I know she wants to get me something special since i'll be 18 though.. anyone have any ideas? I'm a girl if your idea is something gender-specific.

Maybe some suggestions you can think of, or things you got for your birthday, or things you gave your kids.
It can be in any price range, seriously. She'll decide how much she wants to spend, I just have to give my mom ideas pretty quickly. =/

Thanks. :)

Answer
I got a bike as a graduation gift when I was 18. I used it to ride around campus when I went to university, and to run errands back before I had a car to drive. It was a really good present.

How to be a girly girl?

righteousa

Im not a girly girl i dont like pink i never liked dolls. I always played with the boys. Love video games and wrestling...etc. but my mother hates it. She hates that i dont dress like a girl either and that i have absolutly no girl frieds. How does one go about becoming girly?

Answer
~If you want to be a "girly girl", first of all you'll have to start dressing in really frilly outfits that are uncomfortable to wear. Then you'll have to learn how to tilt your head when talking to a boy, bat your eyelashes and act dumb. Once you learn that, you'll have to learn how to giggle at everything he says and pout when he doesn't react the way you want.

However, remember that even "girly girls" grow up to become women. Unfortunately, many "girly girls" still try to act that way when they're 30 and boy, do they look stupid and shallow.

Here's a better idea: be yourself. Enjoy who you are. Develop your natural talents and gifts. Never play down your intelligence to any boy. Hopefully, your mother will come to recognize the amazing woman you will become.

What gift for my friends Bat Mitzvah?

Q. My friend is a not a girly-girl.She loves animals and lacrosse. I actually do not know many of her interests because I only know her from girl scouts. I think something unique and edgy would be good. Any ideas? Also must be affordable.
I want to give her a little gift and money.

Answer
Give her a gift that will last forever. Teach her about the true beauty, privilege and spirituality of being a Jewish woman.

Gift for woman turning 40. She's a teacher, Mom and Church Youth Coordinator?

liddabet

We are going to a surprise party for our Church Youth Coordinator. She's turning 40. She's a divorced Mom of two twin boys (6 years old), and she's a 4th grade school teacher.

We'd like to spend about $25.00 - $30.00 max. DON'T WANT TO GIVE A GIFT CARD! Any idea about a nice gift we could get her? She's pretty stylish and hip. Would rather not go the route of "safe" gifts like flowers and such.

Answer
Check out http://www.uncommongoods.com -- they have some pretty unique gifts. I've bought from there before, and it's a nice site.

What's a good birthday gift for a woman turning 60?

dejavuist

Answer
Spa/Manicure/Pedicure certificates are a great idea. Or $40 - $100 at her favorite restaurant. If she likes movies, you could get her a movie theater or Blockbuster certificate. If she's on a fixed income, she probably can't afford stuff like that. I would not suggest perfume unless you know which kind she likes. Ladies are very particular about their perfume, and older people tend to be sensitive to it anyways.

Do NOT get her some "cute" gag gift to make her feel old. Nothing that says "Over The Hill" or anything like that. That's mean.

Cool, entertaining x-mas gift or gadgets for mom while in hospital?

Q. My 18 year old sister is diagnosed with cancer receiving treatment, and my mom practically lives at the hospital. I'd like to get her a nice gift...something she can entertain herself in her long days and nights at the hospital...she likes games like connect 4, casino games, scrabble, etc. She's not much into crosswords or soduku or anything like that. Do you have any ideas what I can get mom for x-mas that she'd like? Any links? Thanks for the help!

Answer
I would go to Toys R Us and go down the aisle with the handheld electronic games and see what's there that your mom would like.

You can get her BlackJack games, Deal or No Deal, Scrabble, and like the previous posters have mentioned, the gameboy with some games. You'll find tons of other games too in that section. I've seen lots of games that are handheld and electronic and they're not expensive and there's lots of options!

Also, what about some books or a portable DVD player for her to watch some movies?

magazines, her favorite books or even a gift card to a bookstore for her to pick up some that she may enjoy reading.

I am SO sorry about your sister's illness. I hope she gets well soon and that she goes into remission. I also hope you and your family are doing ok through all this and wish you all strength to get through this.

It's very thoughtful of you to get your mom something that she can do while at the hospital with your sister.

Can someone reccomend a cookbook with easy recipes for 70 year old woman living alone?

maria

looking for a cookbook with simple recipes for my boyfriends 70 year old mother. She lives alone and has some heart issues. Nothing fancy.
I should have explained that she requested a cookbook for christmas. I think she just needs inspiration, since she is alone during the day, she sometimes won't eat or just snacks. It would be nice to have a cookbook, not to learn to cook, but just some ideas on quick meals or nutritious snacks. This way she is not getting bored with the same old standbys. Thanks.
@Maureen M. I'll be sure to check out the heart associatilos website, thanks for the good suggestion

Answer
why not try barnesandnobles.com they have many cookbooks... or if you have a used book store in your area try there.... or at hamiltonbooks.com happy holidays.. one suggestion would be go to dollar general store and buy a holiday soup mug make her a holiday soup mug type gift basket filled with pouches of her favorite soups bought from a local grocery store..i got great reviews on this holiday gift idea this season.. hope you do as well...just had to pass that idea along as well..

White elephant gift ideas?

McKayla

My family and I have an annual white elephant gift exchange during xmas. usually every year, i throw in an amazon gift card (30 dollars) and some random chocolate. this year, the rules indicate no gift cards or edible items and im stumped! whats some good gift ideas
-unisex
-no gift cards
-no cash
-no edible items
-something somebody from 12-70 years old would want
- budget: 30 dollars!
please include somewhere i can buy it from IF POSSIBLE
thanks so much!

Answer
So here is a suggestion does your family steal gifts during the exchange. By that I mean everybody draws a number from a hat the person who has number one gets their pick of all the presents under the tree which should be wrapped. Then they open their present. The person with number 2 then has the choice of stealing( taking) person number 1 gift they just opened or picking a new gift from under the tree. If person number 2 does take person one's gift then person one has to pick a new gift from under the tree. Next person number 3 can steal either person number 2 gift or person number 1 gift or pick a new gift from under the tree. If number 3 steals number 2 gift number 2 can steal number 1 new gift or pick from under the tree. You set a limit on how many times any one gift can be stolen usually two times then it is dead. The person who has the gift at the time it is declared dead keeps than gift and they are out of the game because they have the gift they will keep. As larger numbers are picked they can steal from anyone except those with dead gifts or they pick a present. The next number is called when all the stealing is done for each turn which ends with someone taking a gift from under he tree.

So here is how to solve your problem. You buy for who is at the party. Women may buy other woman type gifts, men may by men type gifts kids may buy adult gifts or kid gifts whatever. The point is you don't have to buy a gift that fits every single type of person old, young, man, woman because what tends to happen is people steal gifts from people who the gift may not fit. Example a man opens a gift and it is perfume. The next person who is a women very likely will steal the perfume and the man gets a chance to gets another chance to get a more manly desirable gift.

If your family does not do it this way I highly recommend you make the suggestion to change. People will have more fun and it makes it ten times easier to buy a gift that fits a narrow band of people instead of trying to buy one that fits everybody.

Answer
My boyfriend is a huge Leeds Fan ( i know not the best team in the world but he likes them all the same) so for his birthday i wanted to get him something special so i splashed out on a signed leeds shirt and had it framed, he loved it and now it has prode of place in our front room even though i am a Man united fan, the point i'm trying to make is its not about how much you spend it's about the thought and time you have taken to choose the right give, get him something to do with what he likes, what he's interested in and he will be extremely greatful.
