What are unique gift ideas for boyfriends graduation?

xoxoamyxox

My sister is stuck on what to get her boyfriend for graduation... any ideas???
he spent like 150 on her

Answer
A unique graduation gift should be into the two of the following requirements : the graduate will only receive one of these unique graduation gifts and this unique graduation gift will be useful and practical in their new lifestyle. This way they will remember who gave them this unique graduation gift. Great suggestion for your sister are a set of plates, towels, spices, recipe books, a great cd, a framed picture of your sister and her boyfriend, or an alarm clock (for those early mornings). Your sister can always add her personal touch to make the gift looks perfect and unique. Good luck to your sister!

I need a graduation/parting gift idea?

Cynnie

Okay, graduating this year is a girl who's really tough to buy for. She's going to the United States Naval Academy next year, is very masculine in dress and style, and I have no idea what to get her. any ideas?

Answer
Gift cards are always great, because they let who you're buying them for decide what they want! I would say that fifty bucks should do for how much to give her. As for what place to get the giftcard for I would suggest any that you hear/see her buying clothes/necessities from on a regular basis.

everything about registering for wedding gifts?

SARAH

what happened when you got there? where you registered? how was the experience?what did the wedding consultant told you when you got there? everything that day i would want to know

thanks all in advance

Answer
Honestly I found EVERYTHING at Bed Bath & Beyond. I didn't need to register anywhere else. You can pick a range of low-medium-high priced items. These are quality things that won't fall apart. Honestly, I'd skip places like Walmart and even Target. Anything I've ever gotten from there eventually fell apart or didn't work that great to begin with.

Anyway, at BB & B, there's an entire department of the store to assist with brides like you! Find anyone working there and let them know you need assistance. The woman working will start your account, show you how to work the scanner, and you simply go around and scan items you would like on your registry. You can check online to see all your items, add things, delete things, and it also shows if someone purchased something.

Make a list with your fiance of things you both really need or want. Then you'll have something to go off of when you're in this huge store of amazing merchandise.

Have fun!

ibambi33

Ok, I have a sister who has everything. I am trying to find something that she would never think about getting. She owns everything from Old Navy to Lane bryant. Clothes up the wazoo. I'm lost and I need help. She's a vet assistant and goes shopping all the time. I'm trying to find stuff online. It's easier because I work all the time. I'm not looking at spending more than about 75 bucks on a gift. HELP ME!!!!!
Oh, I forgot to add. That she's 22years old and she doesn't have a car yet.She likes to draw, shop and watch movies.

Answer
unique gift â special art picture!
I tried to find a special wedding gift for my sister
A friend of mine recommended http://www.photoartomation.com (they converts ordinary photos into art and print them on canvas).
I sent them a photo. They made several preview samples for me. All of them were perfect. I chose one of them and order a canvas stretched print. That was awesome!
My sis was very, very pleased

Gift idea for a guitar lover?

ashley.ste

I wanted to piece together a puzzle of a guitar, frame it, and give it as a gift. However, I can't find a puzzle. Any ideas? Gifts for a guitar lover...from a new girlfriend.
He has about 3 or 4 guitars already and we are in a new relationship...

Answer
A gift certificate to a music store such as Sam Ash or Guitar Center. There is lots of gear, tablature, and instructional videos, etc. that a guitar enthusiast might also be interested. A new guitar might not be a great idea, since you are unlikely to pick out what he'd be interested in, and he may already be partial to his current guitar.

Gift idea for a film lover?

N

So my best friend's birthday is coming up and I'm stuck on what to get her. For Christmas I got her a rare movie poster. She loves movies. More the modern stuff over classics. Any ideas would be so helpful!

Answer
A co worker suggested for my gift to give a box or bag of popcorn, movie ticket (gift certificate), and one or two of those 10 dollar movies. I don't know what she likes, so get something and attach the gift card receipt to it so if she doesn't like your movie choice, she can exchange it (as long as it's not opened). If she likes candles add that... and you never go wrong with a few chocolates (I'd put a note for good nights... or something)...

Cheers

Different gift ideas for boyfriend's 32nd birthday?

ere311

I see there are many postings similar to this. Mine is a little different-he is out of town 98% of the time due to work - he is a CO. He shares an apt w/9 other guys out of town and stays with his parents/me when he's home. Therefore, nothing material for the home is needed. I wanted to get him a flatscreen tv but he said no. I spoil him rotten when it comes to physical attention when he's home, so something like a 'nookie coupon' book is completely null and void here. I need help. I'm usually so creative but all of his friends and I are completely stumped this year. (Last year we did dinner and casino which was great but we can't repeat the same thing you know?) He doesn't have a passion like sports or music.. doesn't collect anything..
Can ANYBODY help me?!
I love that answer.. but I suppose I should add that he's only home 2 days every 2 weeks. Going anywhere even for a DAY would be out of the question because of his stupid work schedule. It's frustrating!

Answer
how about a break away, weekend in europe? it wouldn't be too expensive, and you can always do something when your out there! I (For my fella's 30th next year) am taking him to see the Knicks play basketball because thats all hes wanted to do for ages! We live in the UK so its quite a random present xx

Does my brother deserve a christmas gift?

Maya C

I am 16 years old, my brother is 14. My brother has got a problem which is that he cannot have any feelings for others. He cannot show empathy. He doesn't live at home since my parents cannot handle him anymore. He gets to come home every second weekend however and now he will be home for two weeks over christmas.

My brother takes my money whenever he gets a possibility to do so therefore me and my family have to hide our money all the time so that he won't take it and by cigarettes, alcohol and drugs all the time. Although he has taken so much money from me lately so that I am almost broke.

Do you think that I should buy hum a gift for christmas anyway?
I am sorry I wasn't clear enough. There's absolutely nothing wrong with my parents, they are very nice though they are almost breaking apart due to the situation with my brother. My brother has like a handicap though you can't notice it since he is pretty smart or at least normal. He is currently living in a school where others with similar problems are living. I know that since he has a handicap I should consider that and be nice, however his handicap is that he cannot like other people obviously or at least he cannot appreciate them. Therefore I am not sure if it really would matter to him if I buy him a gift for christmas...

Answer
wow, tough question. it sounds like he's extremely selfish -- stealing money from his own sister -- but you still care enough to at least consider giving him a gift. kudos to you for being such a good sister!

to be honest, i don't know whether i would give him a gift or not. i would certainly feel guilty if i intentionally excluded him, but the truth is that he doesn't sound like the kindof person who appreciates gifts as expressions of love. he sounds more to me like the kindof person who feels his gifts are entitlements.

i wish i had a better answer for you, but there is no easy solution to this one. try to figure out how he would react if you got him a gift, versus how he would react if you did not. also try to figure out the emotional impact to you. ultimately, in a situation like this i suggest going with your intuition -- if your gut instinct tells you a solution is right, and it feels right, there is probably some reason it's right (something you have not observed on a conscious level).

i really hope this helps; good luck!

gift for the gardening, composting dad?

Lyla is

im trying to figure out a fathers day gift for my dad, and i would like to make it myself. whats a good gift for my dad who loves his compost bin & vegetable garden?

Answer
twirly things are cool. like, spin in the wind toys. pretty but also can scare away certain pests like fruit or worm eating eating birds.

like this:
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Pinwheel

plastic is cool of course, or laminated but paper would let you print images off the net. i do Like the solid colors they show in that how2 but just saying since it is father's day like if u know how to print up pix of yourself and family.

if u make the blades rounded instead of pointy and color it right it will look like a flower. but also i have seen some that managed to make the center round somehow. adding a disk or just cutting it right. if u add spacer between disk and part that spins then face can stand still while petals spin.

other famous one for dads is the tshirt. u can write or tiedye with bleach. or dye with koolaid. and also u got the transfers but that is cash, like $8 for ten sheets? but i mean the paper u can iron onto a shirt; u print a picture on the paper first by using the regular computer printer, so u can use family pix or personal art.

then of course a card. or 'coupons'. like for one weed picking session or one car washing, one hug, one movie together, etc. it varies on what u think he needs and what u like plus if u want to just make nice ones or ones that will mostly be budgeting time spent together.

cards u can make online and print out besides all the other ways. Some sites are better than others:
http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkkW9zDpK8i4AwYRXNyoA?p=custom+printable+father%27s+day+card&fr=b1ie7&fr2=sb-top&sao=1

a funny thing online is making your own magazine cover. like gardening dad of the year or whatnot:
http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0oGkkEw0DpKwfIAvgRXNyoA?p=make+magazine++cover+-.makezine.com&y=Search&fr=b1ie7&fr2=sb-top&sao=1

idk if ur dad is online but here in a good link to email him:
http://www.geocities.com/missbanji/seedswapping.html

^to seed swap boards, usually can get for SASE if u have none to trade. dont go to daves cause its a pay place. check for level of activity b4 u sign to any tho. some are relatively inactive.

also, even if he is not online, lots of dads like to read. Online u can find him neat texts to share and keep him up to date. maybe try searching with your area plus the words "soil survey" for texts he would find fundamental. also, if he likes to try growing new things it is easy to get very important but obscure details online. here is how to find local or cultivation info...

well, i'm going to link u to two threads actually, one about how to find info but the other about making your own fertilizer because it is relatively new and bears heavily on compost tech:

so here they are:

Secret Santa: gardening gift ideas?

r

We are having a Secret Santa in our office and the name that I picked is for a woman who I don't know much about. All I know is that she has a nice garden near her home. Last year, I picked her name and I bought her a plant. She loved it! I don't want to get her the same gift this year. It's too difficult to transport from home during the morning rush hour. Any suggestions? The maximum is $20. Thanks!

bridal shower western gift idea?

Roxy

my best friend is gettin married and i need an idea for bridal shower gift. she is decorating in western...either i can make the gift or buy. i need ideas ASAP

Answer
Welcome brooms are back in style, I'm making one for for friends this Xmas. Someone here was making one dressed as a bride and a groom. Cute. Dress yours up like a cowgirl.
All you do is take a nice broom, slide a styrofoam ball over the handle down to the broom, do a face on the Styrofoam, give it yarn hair and a hat[the hat gets threaded down the broom handle, too. Then drape the upper broom artfully with clothes with a collar. Mine I inherited from my mother was made of felt, the collar and clothes was intricately folded to look like a fancy woman's shirt, and had a picture 1940's hat. You could make a cowboy hat, and a denim or checkered plaid shirt easily. Make the yarn hair into braids for a western look.
The ones I am making one will be all in white with a woman's version of a top hat, the other will be all in satin green with a Xmas corsage. The styrofoam ball will be painted beige, and the facial features done in felt.
Or do a bunny or a teddy bear in western gear for her. Or put teddy in a western bride outfit.

A western type blanket. Try the fabric store for material ideas, plush acrylic with a cut and tied border. Or go online for an Native American blanket. Or do a patchwork or applique cowboy quilt.

Whatever you decide to give her wrap it in red bandannas sewn together, and find some natural twine for the ribbon to simulate a lariat. Or line a a basket with them.
Make a unique kitchen place mat and napkin set with bandannas. Even make a tablecloth, napkin rings, or table square [one that is smaller than the table, and turned sideways on the table for decoration]. Make hand rolled flowers out of gingham check or bandannas, for a centerpiece, or the bow on a gift, or for the napkin rings.
Make a teddy bear out of gingham or bandannas.
The tablecloth and napkins would make a really neat picnic basket too. Go to Michael's for a picnic basket, line it yourself, include the tablecloth and napkins, and search around for plastic picnic plates and glasses and silverware in a cowboy theme or matching color. Even kitchen towels or potholders.
Check the patterns at the fabric store for ideas.

A cowboy/chuck wagon/cookout cookbook.
A dutch oven or a cast iron skillet.

I used to sew quilt and pillow sets for fun. It takes no time, and they're a gift you can put a lot of yourself in to. Also, I take old band shirts, cut them up, and sew them into more 'modern' styles.

tell me about virgo women plz?

plh2you

Answer
The Virgo female usually has a strongly developed maternal instinct and makes for a very devoted wife and mother. Counted among the best housekeepers, she is economical and delights in having her home and personal belongings tasteful as well as elegant. This is a woman who will be extremely precise...even to the point of fussiness. Clean and chaste in thought, most Virgo females display expressions of purity and virtue. There is normally a certain fascinating sweetness lingering in the eyes and about the mouth. Females governed by this Sign love those who are pure in mind and who possess characters which are just and true. Thus, they tend to dislike the baser instincts associated with the male population and are apt to find marriage something of a disappointment. Nonetheless, the magnetism of the Virgo woman is very marked and once she has gained an influence over another person, she will rule absolutely. Although the heart of this female will not go out to the world in general, she is likely to be very loving and affectionate toward those of whom she is fond. If one single word could describe the Virgo woman, it would probably be discriminating. She demands action rather than words and quickly seeks commitment in any relationship.
With a love of finery, dress, society and display, women who fall under the jurisdiction of Virgo will resort to any honorable means in order to gratify their desires in these areas. Likely to be a leader of fashion...if circumstances permit...she will always show excellent taste in the selection of wearing apparel. These women harbor much respect for the beautiful coupled with an outstanding perception of color, which often develops into artistic talent and may be displayed in their use of a needle, brush and pencil. Floral arrangements and home decoration are their particular specialities. This female is blessed with a quick and accurate eye which enables her to excel in any profession which utilizes such gifts. This woman is not one to be trifled with and she truly knows what she is all about. It would be a grave mistake to underestimate this female. She will set goals and overcome any odds to achieve them. The most enlightened Virgo woman is one who has developed both her intellectual and spiritual sides. Such a female is extremely powerful, magnetic and charming...one who could possibly sway an entire nation, if not the entire world.

Acccommodating and adjustable, this woman may basically be a shy individual, but such will not deter her from overcoming life's obstacles. If some flaw or imperfection is perceived in a relationship, then she will have no hesitation in breaking the bond. When annoyed, females who fall under the jurisdiction of this Sign can be shrewd and fussy and they are certainly nobody's fool. However, this woman can be won over with grace and taste rather than physical charms. The approach to life here is direct. Virgo women can be pessimistic and critical souls but somewhat earthy in their judgments. This is one of the few female types of the Zodiac who can be trusted in every way. Often possessing the reasoning powers customarily associated with males, the Virgo woman refuses to adopt a veneer of helpless feminine charm...although she is usually feminine in appearance. Severe in her moral judgments, this woman is frequently good at hiding such, presenting a smiling face to the world and always pleasant on the surface. By no means a spoil-sport, being tolerant and wise in many ways, the Virgo female does possess such high standards for herself that she often seethes with inner tension. In addition, this woman will probably have a tendency toward hypochondria. She is so centered on being perfect that she is inclined to imagine ailments and diseases whenver she feels the slightest bit out of sorts. In truth, however, the Virgo female rarely requires medicine at all and usually lives a long and useful life...frequently appearing much younger than she actually is.

Intellectual by nature and blessed with a gift of language...or even the powers of a retentative memory which helps her pass examinations...this female is something of an academic type which can be threatening to many ordinary males. Nonetheless, this is a woman who does possess sex-appeal and is often counted among the prettiest females of the Zodiac. She will also be lively and vivacious well into old age. The woman governed by Virgo will have a quick and alert mind but can be something of a snob. Regardless, she respects all the old-fashioned virtues and is one of most subtle and delicately cast women of the entire Zodiac. As a mother, she will be relatively indulgent, taking infinite pains to understand her children. As a wife, she will constantly strive for perfection in every way...backing her partner in each endeavor while making every effort to be self-effacing.

whats your opinion on virgo woman?

lovey423

Answer
The woman governed by Virgo cannot easily be won over. Her approach to life is direct and she can also be pessimistic, critical and something of a fusser. Yet, she is so elementally "earthy" in her judgments, that she is one of the few female types of the Zodiac who can be trusted in every way. This female frequently possesses the reasoning powers normally associated with the male population and she refuses to stoop to hiding this by adopting a veneer of helpless and feminine charm. Regardless, this woman is usually very feminine in appearance, generally being neat, small-boned and attractive. Beneath the surface, however, the Virgo female is quite severe in her moral judgments, despite frequently masking this with a smiling face that she presents to the world at large. This woman is by no means a spoil-sport...being tolerant and wise in many ways...but she does set such high standards for herself that she often virtually seethes with inner tension. Frequently intellectual with the gift of language or the powers of a retentive memory which aids her in passing examinations, the Virgo female is something of an academic type. All this can be rather intimidating and frightening for the ordinary individual. However, her countenance is certainly not lacking in attractive features and she can be counted among the more prettier types of the Zodiac. In addition, this woman can remain lively and vicacious well into old age. As a long term partner, she will constantly strive for perfection in every area, backing her mate in terms of career and putting her mate first while trying to be fairly self-effacing. As a mother, strangely enough, she can be relatively indulgent, taking infinite pains to understand her children. The Virgo woman is considered by many to be one of the most subtle and delicately-cast females to be found in the entire Zodiac.
Hope this helps and describes you the best. Good Luck.

Should you get a gift for the women throwing your baby shower?

Aurelie

My mom, aunt, and good friend are throwing my baby shower. Is it proper etiquette to get them a gift? What should I do to show my appreciation?

Answer
It's always nice to give a small gift of appreciation to friends/family that throw/host a shower for you, so I'd say it's a good idea, and it'll be a nice surprise because most people don't necessarily expect a gift!

This is a little different, but for hosts of our wedding shower, my husband and i gave bottles of wine.

Baby shower gift?

graybear

What's a good baby shower gift for a woman who already has a child of the same sex that is not too much older and has undoubtedly saved all the stuff? I'm sure this baby shower is more of just a fun celebration for friends and she's not registered anywhere, so what would be something fun and not too over the top?

Answer
I think something great would be creating your own gift basket for the person. Get them an assortment of things, like....baby shampoo, baby lotion, baby-safe Q-tips, hand sanitizer (so they don't have to wash their hands so much), diapers, wipes, etc. Essential items like these are things they will need that most don't think about getting.

Answer
I understand your frustration, my dear.

Believe it or not, my husband and I tried to conceive for more than 8-months. We tried to refrain from sex for days and even weeks but it didn't help.
Worst part is, there were empty hopes - I thought I was pregnant but in the end I wasn't. It's really frustrating and I understand that.

I was in Yahoo Answers and in this section quite some time ago and I ask a question similar to yours and a person recommended me a book. It's entitled "Getting Pregnant Bible". I swear it's like a gift from God!

It teaches stuffs like the seven things you need to do before even you try to get pregnant to ensure a healthy pregnancy; the appropriate diet to conceive; how to increase your husband's sperm count; the ovulation cycle and many others!

I am already having my 4th child now! I really recommend that you try reading this book out. Also, they are currently giving free bonus books like fertility secrets and choosing your baby gender! It's for a limited time only!

Natural Ways for a woman to increase the chances of getting pregnant?

I have seen several questions and information on how to increase count and motility of sperm, but I wondered, what can a woman do to increase the chances of getting pregnant (natural ways)? Besides keeping track of ovulation.
Suggestions or comments are highly appreciated!!'
My husband and I want to have a baby, actually we are not really really trying, but we are not either, we are having unprotected sex, in my most fertile days, we would like to have all the information so we can increase the chances of getting pregnant.
sorry, I was going to say we are not preventing a pregnancy, we are having unprotected sex.

Do some women differentiate between money spent on a date vs. a gift?

Thundercat

Based on a couple recent question of buying gifts for women, it reminded me of something that happened years ago. I was dating a woman in the somewhat early stages (a few months). She had an older stereo system with a broken CD player. I went online looking for a unit to replace it which matched the system which happened to be a used unit. It ended up being about $40. When I told her about it, she seemed real uncomfortable with accepting such a gift. I was completely puzzled. She had many CD's sitting idle. She could listen to music again. I could listed to music at her house. Just the week before I had taken her out on a date, ate some food, saw a comedian. It was about $80 for both of us. Basically, it was $40 out of my pocket for her benefit.

What was the difference in spending the money on a date or a gift?

You might say the date meant time spent together. Well, we could also sit together and listen to music while cuddling.

I wasn't buying the gift for sex. We were already in the intimate phase. I was buying the gift because I thought she would like it.
It almost wasn't even a gift as much as it was fixing something that was broken. In this case, it was cheaper to buy another unit than to fix the old one.

Answer
Women are not too bothered on specific costs dependant on the intent.

A fleeting dinner date versus an invested gift.

Thats the difference, she will always think of you when playing CD's and looking at the player so its more of a big deal in her mind.

however a date is date, not much in it really, not that i'm saying it wasn't great for you both, but chances are every time both of you have a steak, salad or what ever you had for dinner, i doubt you are going to always think of each other for ever.

So long term invested gift, or short term date, that's about it really.

Ha.... woman hay... nightmares..

Hope that helps you mate.

Daniel

Is it creepy to buy women gifts in hopes that you can date them?

internet u

Answer
What if you buy them gifts and they still don't date you? Waste of money.

Someone gave me a very expensive handbag on a first date once. It was very awkward. He then expected me to date him again but I wasn't in to him any way and he got pi**ed off, saying he expected me to date him because of the handbag.

I didn't force him to give me the bag. It was his choice! I told him that I am not a prostitute and would gladly give the bag back to be rid of him!

What is the perfect gift to give to a woman on the first date?

It is a first date, so you don't want to overdo it. It's true, we love flowers, so I would suggest you to get her a single flower. You can buy it in advance, or if you two are going to walk together at some point during or at the end of the date, you can even pick one up if you see a really nice one while you're walking (those are awesome gestures, and women love spontaneity when it's not embarrassing).
You can actually scout the place where you're going to walk with her beforehand, to see where are the best flowers so you can pick one.
That would be my advice. Good luck!!!

What do woman want..?

Stoker679

I think there is a point in ever manâs life when this question crosses his mind. Unfortunately itâs never under the greatest of circumstances. Iâm a lonely 23 year man whom has steered clear of the dating scene due to the utter complications of the good guy bad guy scenario. I unfortunately am the good guy; raised in a house full of woman I picked up on the emotional rollercoaster that they call âfinding loveâ at a very young age. A kid can only take so my nights watching their loved ones cry themselves to sleep over a man; before putting their little foot down and accepting the challenge of simply finding someone to love enough to give them what they deserve.

As an adult I see that it is much more difficult than that. Iâm not going to bombard you with my relationship stories. For me itâs simple, they all ended very similar to one other. âYouâre too good for meâ, âyouâre going to make some lucky girl very happyâ, and âYouâre too good to be trueâ. Mind you Iâm no saint! Iâm just respectful to their space and feelings. I donât buy them gifts all the time! Only when I fell thatâs its right; that way it means something to them. Iâm not a push over! I fight when itâs something I feel is necessary to fight about.

The only reason I raise this question is due to the fact that out of the five relationships that I have been in. four of them have gone to men that treat them badly. I happen to be friends with one of their boyfriendâs sister and I come to find he cheats on her, fights, and lies to her. I donât get it??? It almost seems as if they like someone to be rude to them. Iâm so confused⦠Is it wrong for me to just want to love someone for who they are? Support them in everything they do and be there for them when called upon? Or am I just thinking too far into this? Should I try being rude for a change see how that turns outâ¦What do woman want?

Answer
Maybe the women you have been dating came from dysfunctional homes. They are not used to being treated with respect. They are unable to treat themselves with respect. The influencing parent has the most influence on a girl/woman. Usually the father. If he is abusive, disrespectful and a cheating moron and the wife/mother was a passive doormat or vice versa then that is the mould or conditioning that has been implanted into the psyche.
Then life comes along to teach us that this is not the way to live.
We are often filled with a false perspective that it is "happier ever after" or the happiness trap. Life is not like this at all and no one is ever perfect, in fact most of us have an idealistic perspective.
What your parents or family did is not what you have to do as an adult. You can choose to live a different life. You your self have been conditioned but just don't know it. You are attracted to certain types of women because.................................
Who do they remind you most of?
What is it you want them to be?
What perspectives do you have that might need tweeking a bit?
Did you feel loved as child?
Did you feel abandoned as a child?
Did you have unrelenting standards to live up to?
Were you emotionally deprived or abused as a child?
Are you constantly seeking one or more parents love, acceptance and approval?
Most young women don't see the comparisons to their home life to their adult life choices.
This only comes about when you have become older and had a few challenges to work through before it becomes clear and you gain wisdom.
I speak from my own life experiences. I'm mature aged now.
I met my ex husband when I was just 16 and had just started my first job. I believed in love at first sight and happily ever after scenarios.
Of course I chose the wrong man ( a rebel with addictions and bad attitude) to hook up with. I eloped at age 19 when it was a very outrageous thing to do. I got pregnant. He did not want the baby. I had to beg my parents for some money to get an abortion because I could not bare to be separated from him. I stayed with him for 23 years. We married after living together for 4 years. I had several miscarriages and then had two sons who are young adults now. I divorced the man 12 years ago because once I reached my late 30's I began to re-evaluate my life. I was terribly lonely in my marriage (he was hardly home much and addicted to pot and not good at handling money) and I was always meeting his needs while mine were ignored. It was an ugly separtion and divorce process. I've started my life over and while I don't have much and I'm single and content to be free of all the wretchedness. End of story.

Nothing wrong for wanting to love someone for who they are.
It shows a nice acceptance level that is not based solely on looks, money, status all of which are superficial aspects.
However, supporting destructive behaviour is not healthy.
It is not your job to fix them. This is their path and their lessons to learn.
You need to detach from this sort of person or crowd of misfits who don't understand integrity nor how to behave properly.
You are wasting your time here. You can't fix this one.
Try charitable groups or community groups who have good folk who volunteer to serve the wider community.
Environmental or Conservation groups also attract a better class (hate the word) of people who can distinguish between right and wrong.
Don't be rude and disrespectful. You lower yourself to the gutter.
Just continue to be your good self.
You got to ask yourself why you keep being attracted to drama queens. Maybe attractiveness but they are soooo screwed up inside. I could tell you the answer...however, you need to figure it out for yourself. Once you do, you can then make better choices in the type of women you become involved with and who not to get involved with.
A relationships book written by Dr Barbra De Angilis titled "Are you the one for me" is a good read and helps put things into proper perspective. Maybe your local library has it or could order it in for you.

Good luck!

No gifts for my 16th birthday?

Pilot

My dad and mom are divorced, and I see my dad about a week every months. This year I'm having my Sweet 16... We've never really done anything special for birthdays, and he's often gone without giving me gifts. This year he called and said that he was going to invite a few of my cousins and uncles and ants to a local park for my party, but that I wouldn't get any presents, and I said ok.

I'm actually kind of hurt, because I was hoping that if there was one birthday I'd get any gifts at all, it would be my Sweet 16. He's not paying for any of my college fund, either, but he just bought a pair of jet skis for himself and his new wife. He says he's never able to afford presents for birthdays or Christmas, but he's buying himself a new laptop!

I know I seem selfish, but I want to let him know I feel a little hurt. Am I justified in doing so? How should I do it without hurting him?

Thanks

Answer
He is the one who is selfish......

One should always help their kids out and at 16 a big deal in your life should be a Big deal in His.....I am sorry.....you are hurt...

You need to be totally honest with him and yourself......there is Nothing wrong with honesty it shows maturity as well....do you think his new wife would let him get by without giving her gifts ? I doubt it...and neither should YOu !!!

what should i ask for a gift for my 16th birthday?

Alina

i already have a car, but i just don't know what to ask for. when i say nothing to my parents because they seem to think that i NEED to have something for my birthday. So you think you can give me some ideas?

Answer
The name Alina makes me think you are female. If that is true, how about a nice piece of jewelry you can have for a long time and think back about, see this necklace, I got it for my 16th birthday:)
Most 16 year olds want some kind of new electronic product, better cell phone, itouch, something. There are always new improved products, so you can't have everything.

Gifts ideas for 25th birthday?

Madam Hone

My best friends 25th birthday is in a few months. I am going to be out of town, so i thought it would be fun to put together a gift basket of fun items to be delivered on her birthday.

Does anyone have ideas to celebrate a 25th birthday? I was thinking of fun "25" themed items, but i can't think of anything to put in the basket.

So far I have a mixed CD of music that was popular the year she was born (1982). Any other ideas?

Answer
How about a small photo album with some pictures from your past/present together?
You can also write 25 memories in a card or 25 fun words or phrases that have meaning to your friendship and/or her life.
Your music CD is a great idea!
If you still want to do the 25 themed items...think about what your friend likes (hobbies, recreation) and give her mostly useful items.
Or you could do a summer theme---with ideas for summer fun (frisbee, small sunscreen, lemonade packet, flip flops, fun candy, headband, sport socks, paper fan, lotion, small book, journal, etc).
