just found out some relative of mine got engaged in Melbourne, Australia, going to be a party this month (in 3 weeks), Engagement party gift isn't neccessary I read, but what would be nice to send out there from the USA? Can I ship Macy's International?

If you are invited to a engagement party and they are putting on a free feed and refreshments it is customary to turn up with a gift, especially when they stipulate 'no gifts'.
I often have goods shipped from the US to Australia and for it to arrive within three weeks you would have to send it express post which usually takes just under two weeks. Normal Priority Mail can take four weeks. Depending on the weight this could prove very expensive.
Why don't you look up websites of Australian stores like David Jones (top end), Myers, Harris Scarfes, Target, Bunnings, Dan Murphys (grog) and buy something from them using a credit card (Visa & MasterCard are widely accepted)
If you don't know what they would like ring up one of their mothers perhaps. Youngsters of today are into the latest gadgets they tell me

Sending a gift basket or hamper to Australia from the USA?

Hi, I live in the USA and need to send a nice gift basket/hamper to Australia. I have spent countless hours online with no luck. The best USA gift basket sites have very limited choices in international delivery, while the Australian hampers would be nothing original. Does anyone have experience in ordering a quality gift online to be sent out of the country? At this point I feel like my best bet is to shop for an Australian hamper to be sent within Australia. I just wanted some neat american cheese or wine I guess... Thanks in advance.

Before you buy anything outside Australia for sending into Australia, you should check out on the customs pages as there are numerous items that cannot be imported in (without a special licence).
especially food products.

Have you thought about perhaps making a little gift basket up yourself? Have a think about items (not necessarily food) that is more Americanised (ie obvious choices for someone sending from aus to us would be boomerang, kangeroo, koala etc) That would be original! (and would probably save you money too!) have a thought as to what the person you are sending to likes!\\

it varies by country. some itunes countries don't accept gift cards for apps. look on the back of the itunes card, it should say if it allows apps. or read FAQ on the itunes australia site.
