Like say someone special bought you a gift of expensive chocolates or something would you give them away? Like to just random people at work? Or would you give away a gift that you just gave to someone special? Like chocolate? My boyfriend passed out chocolates I bought for him ( the valentines day ones ). He also bought me a gift of chocolates one day and but then he passed then out to teachers until only two were left and then he ate one. People said im selfish for being upset about this and it's just the though that counts. But what's the point of buying someone a gift if you actually are only giving them 2% of it and passing the rest of it to random people?

Answer
He certainly shouldn't have passed out the chocolates he bought for you, but if you give him a gift of chocolates then he is free to do what he wants with them. So it is two different situations.

How much should I spend on a wedding gift for coworker?

I've looked this up on several sites, but I'm not sure what the amount should be if I bring a date.

My financial standing: I've only been working full-time for about a year and I don't make very much. My boyfriend and I are paying off our student loans as quickly as we can, so we can't afford a gift too expensive.

We were thinking about $150 for the both of us. Is that about average for a coworker? Maybe a little on the low side?

Answer
My general rule is to spend enough to cover the cost of my seat at the wedding reception, ie, the more expensive the venue, the more I spend.

However, I think that if $150 is what you can afford, then stick with that budget. If other co-workers are attending, ask if they want all contribute to give a collective gift of greater value.
