Or Jesus said it's not necessary like kosher and other things?
Because i know that Muslim and Jewish women have to, some women don't wear it because they are not that religious.
Only serious answer, trolls will be reported.

How many days is Hanukkah? And when does it start and end this year?

nedrieka

My son is about to marry a Jewish woman and I'd like to know a little more about her religion. How many nights is Hanukkah celebrated and when does it start?
Also - since it officially starts Dec 21st and goes through the 29th is a gift given on the first night (the 21st)? and every night after - that would be 9 nights of gifts. Or is the gift giving started on the 22nd?

Answer
Chanukah starts on December 21 at sundown. It is celebrated for 8 nights. The celebration ends on the 29th of December.

The story goes... there was only enough oil to last for one or two nights to light the temple. The miracle is it lasted 8 days. So family and friends gather to remember and children love it because you get 8 gifts one for each night. Driedels and chocolate coins covered in gold foil are just some of the things received.

Hope your son and soon to be daughter in law enjoy.
