Do you open gifts at a graduation party in front of the guests or wait til later?

We usually open gifts for birthday parties for my son, but this is for my Master's Degree and I feel a little weird opening gifts in front of everyone. I didn't even want gifts, but I know that some people will bring something anyway. Thanks in advance.

When people give gifts they like to see the reaction of the receiver when they are opened. It is polite to open them and act surprised and grateful even if you're not. Be gracious & share your delight!
