Can someone reccomend a cookbook with easy recipes for 70 year old woman living alone?

maria

looking for a cookbook with simple recipes for my boyfriends 70 year old mother. She lives alone and has some heart issues. Nothing fancy.
I should have explained that she requested a cookbook for christmas. I think she just needs inspiration, since she is alone during the day, she sometimes won't eat or just snacks. It would be nice to have a cookbook, not to learn to cook, but just some ideas on quick meals or nutritious snacks. This way she is not getting bored with the same old standbys. Thanks.
@Maureen M. I'll be sure to check out the heart associatilos website, thanks for the good suggestion

Answer
why not try barnesandnobles.com they have many cookbooks... or if you have a used book store in your area try there.... or at hamiltonbooks.com happy holidays.. one suggestion would be go to dollar general store and buy a holiday soup mug make her a holiday soup mug type gift basket filled with pouches of her favorite soups bought from a local grocery store..i got great reviews on this holiday gift idea this season.. hope you do as well...just had to pass that idea along as well..

Answer
So here is a suggestion does your family steal gifts during the exchange. By that I mean everybody draws a number from a hat the person who has number one gets their pick of all the presents under the tree which should be wrapped. Then they open their present. The person with number 2 then has the choice of stealing( taking) person number 1 gift they just opened or picking a new gift from under the tree. If person number 2 does take person one's gift then person one has to pick a new gift from under the tree. Next person number 3 can steal either person number 2 gift or person number 1 gift or pick a new gift from under the tree. If number 3 steals number 2 gift number 2 can steal number 1 new gift or pick from under the tree. You set a limit on how many times any one gift can be stolen usually two times then it is dead. The person who has the gift at the time it is declared dead keeps than gift and they are out of the game because they have the gift they will keep. As larger numbers are picked they can steal from anyone except those with dead gifts or they pick a present. The next number is called when all the stealing is done for each turn which ends with someone taking a gift from under he tree.

So here is how to solve your problem. You buy for who is at the party. Women may buy other woman type gifts, men may by men type gifts kids may buy adult gifts or kid gifts whatever. The point is you don't have to buy a gift that fits every single type of person old, young, man, woman because what tends to happen is people steal gifts from people who the gift may not fit. Example a man opens a gift and it is perfume. The next person who is a women very likely will steal the perfume and the man gets a chance to gets another chance to get a more manly desirable gift.

If your family does not do it this way I highly recommend you make the suggestion to change. People will have more fun and it makes it ten times easier to buy a gift that fits a narrow band of people instead of trying to buy one that fits everybody.
