Most inmates are aware of what company has been approved for such purposes. Each inmate has a counselor, who is able to tell him about such things. The counselor will tell him what the name of the company is, and how to contact them for a catalog.
The sad thing is, most of these companies charge almost double what it would ordinarily cost to send such items. It's not fair, but it's the truth.
