You could plant a willow sapling together, if this is your wife.
Don't suggest doing it with someone elses wife, lol.
A nice vase.
OR how about a date to one of those paint your own pottery studios and paint a pair of something...salt and pepper shakers, picture and bowl...
another thought is take a pottery throwing lesson, or give a gift of a class to the couple, if it's not your wife.
