60th birthday gift for mom?

My mom's 60th birthday is in a few weeks. Since this is a milestone birthday, I want to give her something really special. My two main things are I want my gift to be "luxury" and "personalized" and I am not sure what to get. I just want it to be unique and special. Budget $500. Any suggestions from Yahoo!-land?

I recently got my mom a sheepskin rug for her 50th birthday. It meets all of your criteria - they are extremely luxurious, plush and unique. The gift was personal as well since she has arthritis in her knees and this gave her something soft to step onto for her first steps of the day (we placed it next to her bed).

I linked to the site I got hers from below. We got her the natural shaped double rug which seems to be the best one for putting alongside the bed. Obviously you'll need to pick one based on where it would be placed.

My best friend is turning 21 soon and I want to get her something really special but not expensive. I would like to maybe make something with photos but not a predictable scrapbook. We're also moving in together soon so something she could maybe hang on her wall... Any bright ideas?! (not a photo collage!) I'm all outa ideas!
