Test drive a BMW for a gift card promotion scam?

In Oct 2010 I participated in a invitation only promotion from BMW. BMW sent me a envelope in the mail stating that if I test drove any BMW I would receive a $50.00 American Express gift card. I test drove the vehicle and submitted all the information they requested but never received the gift card. It has been over 8 months and I have contact BMW over 10 times via phone calls and email about this issue but they keep telling me they are looking into why I haven't received the promotional gift card yet and have no updates for me.

As a matter of principal I want my $50.00 gift card and I am fed up with BMW's bi-weekly phone messages telling me they are looking into the status of me receive the gift card. Is this something I can contact the Better Business Bureau about?

You are getting a free handout AND they are keeping in touch with you regarding a $50 GIFT CARD and are calling it a scam?

Some nerve. Typical Gen Y generation - you expect everyone in live to give you something for nothing and you whine and complain when it doesn't go perfectly. Im guessing you are 25 or younger.

I suggest you get a life and start worrying about more important things.

When you go to Walgreens etc, there are a variety of gift cards available to applebees, the gap, etc. I've looked at a lot of pre-paid visa affiliate programs, but I would like to find an affiliate program that offers other gift cards, that I can offer to my customers. Any suggestions?

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies). One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals. These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book). The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive. I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info. I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)

I just won a $5 Walmart gift card (yes I know very exciting) from the Monopoly peel to win at McD's. The confirmation said 8-10 WEEKS to ship! Is that just worst case scenario or will it really take that long?

my experince with contests yes thats about right. Usually a sponsor waits till the promotion to end before they ship everything. I won a few in other contests and it took longer than the 10 weeks but had another that came about 6 weeks so it can depend. So pretty much it will be a supprise in the mail box :)

Should I give a congratulations gift to someone if they got a promotion due to the fact that the other person in that position died. It is a good thing the person got the promotion but horrible that the other person passed away. Just wondering what is proper in this situation?

It's still appropriate. The company could have done nothing and left the position vacant or hired someone from the outside to fill the position. The fact that they didn't do either of these means the promoted employee deserved the promotion.

Bought a macbook pro right before the promotion started?

You can't. I got a Nook HD and it was $199 but weeks later the Nook HD+ was only $149. It sucks.

How long are Aeropostale gift cards good for?

I found an Aeropostale gift card I got for my birthday at the beginning of last year. It's for $20. If I used it in August, which I plan to, will it still be good?

The Aeropostale Gift Card never expires or charges fees. You should still have the $20 on the gift card.

One thing to note: sometimes companies give away gift cards for free during a promotion. There cards might expire.

I would call and check the balance.
