Answer
I was just looking for ideas for gifts for the birdwatchers on my christmas list, and I found a whole bunch of really good ideas on the internet!

On http://ezinearticles.com/?Bird-Watching-Presents---Christmas-Gift-Ideas&id=101088 I found these ideas:

"Bird watchers are rabid about bird watching, and rightfully so. If you are looking for Christmas gift ideas for bird watching presents, here are a few keepers.

Bird Watching Presents

As with practically anything in our modern society, there are all kinds of gadgets and unique gifts that make great Christmas gift ideas for bird watching presents.

1. Electronic Bird Identifier â The Electronic Bird Finder is a device that provides you with the ability to recognize bird sounds and appearances through a comparison with a database in the device. Bird appearances are shown on the device and an ear plug lets you listen to bird calls until you match what you are hearing in the wild with a specific bird in the database. About the size of a pager, the device comes in an easy to carry pouch and is built to take a pounding. You can expect to pay $25 to $50. Just search for âelectronic bird finderâ on the web to find cost options. .

2. Bird Watcherâs Digest â Bird Watcherâs Digest is âtheâ magazine for bird watchers. Great for beginners and avid birding fanatics, the magazine covers unique bird watching locations, birding tips and reviews of Big Day bird watching events to mention just a few items. A one-year subscription will set you back a whopping $19.95, money well spent when you see your friend or loved one hunkered down on the couch and reading away.

3. Trek Pod â This handy device is so cool it should be illegal. The Trek Pod is a multi-function device that acts as a hiking staff while you cruise around looking for optimal bird watching spots. Once you find the perfect location, the staff converts to a tripod you can mount binoculars, cameras and scopes onto. Oh, WHY didnât I think of this?! You can expect to pay $135 for the Trek Pod.

4. Nomad Bird Watching Journals â A little self-promotion. Nomad Bird Watching Journals are great gifts for bird watching enthusiast. Whether they enjoy bird watching tours, backyard birding or bird watching vacations, these journals let bird watchers keep track of sightings, conditions, locations, people met and impressions of the birding experience. A great Christmas gift, you can see the journal by clicking the link in the byline of this article and expect to pay $25 for the journal with case.

Bird watching is sweeping the world. Now you know what to buy bird watching enthusiasts for the holidays."

I received a gift of 70,000 which I used for the purchase of my home will I have to pay taxes on that money? ?

Jaelee

Answer
No. Gift taxes are paid by the gifter not the giftee.

the IRS website says:

Who pays the gift tax?
The donor is generally responsible for paying the gift tax. Under special arrangements the donee may agree to pay the tax instead. Please visit with your tax professional if you are considering this type of arrangement.

The person who gave you the gift may not have to pay taxes on it either however, because the lifetime exclusion for gift taxes are $1,000,000.00

I don't know if this will hyoerlink, but I'll give it a go www.irs.gov/businesses/small/article/0,,id=164878,00.html

I have three kids. I'm getting them 5 each. I shopped Black Friday so some gifts vary from $4 to $30. Grandma gets them the big gifts. We have a big family so we have nephews, brothers, sisters and in-laws. Happy Holidays.

Answer
I am a kid, well teen. From my main parent I get about two or three larger gifts about $75 in price or one huge gift like $300 then about three-five things between $5 and $70 and then one to two stockings filled with about ten-thirty items total of stuff mostly around $1-5 but a few things around $10
then another person who's like a second parent to me/was a parent kinda to me at one point gets me one thing usually just $15-50 or a giftcard equivalent to that
so from "parents/parent figures"
i get around eight things excluding stocking and about thirty things if you include stocking stuffers and get all in total like $500 i guess spent on me by parents/parent figures

Any ideas on how to get cash for a Vanilla Visa gift card?

nothing.

I have a Visa gift card with about $70 left on it. It doesn't work at the ATM & I really need cash.
I've been trying to sell it for $60, but no one is taking me up on it.

Answer
Selling it for 35 is the best you will get

I want to get a few of my friends so gifts for christmas :) So just a couple points before you suggest.
*We are all in highschool, 15-16, so nothing too kiddish (note that I said too kiddish!)
*If you have any idea's for homemad gifts that would be awesome
*And lastly, I do not have a ton of money, so please nothing that cost much

Answer
You can get a bunch of $0.99 or cheap stuff on ebay. Just type in random stuff. Fake diamond earrings, cell phone charms, cell phone covers, weird key chains
For $0.01 plus free shipping you can get 70 pc. bling stick-on decal for phones or whatever else you can stick rhinestones on
For $0.01 plus free shipping you can get a leather 3d bling iphone cover

I just typed in "diamond" and did the search results for "price + shipping lowest first". Type in any random search word. Bracelet, necklace, headband, sunglasses, people sell a lot of sh** for cheap. A lot starting at 1 cent. You could fill stockings with a thousand stocking stuffers if you have $10.
