Birthday gift for 45 year old?

I'm planning a surprise party for my dad. I'm SO at a loss of what to get for a gift though.
Some of his interest are music, fishing, football, electronics. I'm a broke college kid though so that's the tough part, finding something under $100 that he would like. Any ideas? Thanks!

I need to buy something for my sister.I'll be visiting her over seas for her birthday on the july4th.
I need help to decide what, that is not fragile, is unique and easy to travel with.
Something under $100 little above is OK.
First I thought I will pay for the stuff that she asked me to bring (Chocolates,Handbags, Perfumes )but then the surprise is gone.So I need to buy something apart from that.& more so I will reach there in June and I can not hide it from her till the birthday.
Little about her :She likes branded stuff & has almost everything.
I want to give her THE BEST as she is the BEST

I would have like the stickykicks if it was for a younger person,but I need a gift for older person and something sober not kiddish!

Either you can keep the handbag etc. separate and tell her you didn't find them or say this is from my side as your b'day gift. come on she is your sister and will understand.
If you want you can buy her one more handbag or some other branded stuff like a wallet to go with the bag, perfume or cosmetic set.

A shoebox, that is filled with words that describe him; the words can be cut out of magazines.(maybe you can fill it with nice things too)

(Sure it's your DAD but it shows he is your friend)

Make him a big birthday card, write a poem, draw pictures, etc.

Make some of your own coupons, like 'I will iron your clothes' coupon. Or, 'i will help you with work' coupon
Stuff like that.

Birthday tickets come with b-day packages including b-day cake, a gift, reserved seating at restaurants etc. The Sweet Endings package is $45 a person. The Six Flags Ultumate Birthday package is $60 per person & Wiggles World package is $50 per person. I was looking to get some diamond earrings for my mum for her 45th birthday since I've never really gotten her something great like that before. My parents are having a big dinner party and I thought it would compliment her attire really well.

Also, is this a good gift? I didn't want to be lame and go with the usual kitchen appliance thing.

That is an awesome gift I would think, I'll bet your mom will be thrilled! What woman doesn't like diamonds? lol

I got my gf some earrings there myself for our anniversary. They were priced at 800 and brought down to 600. I'm not too sure how savy things are in the diamond business if what I got was a deal or not if if it's like a car dealership, but to see 800 on the price tag and take 200 off of that, I was a happy camper. I've gotten all the jewlery for her from KJ and I've always enjoyed the service they provided.

what I would do is go in there a couple times, tell them you're looking, have them help you and let them know you are willing to buy from them and you're a serious customer. Sometimes I've found stores like that try to shoo you off if you're younger because they don't take you serious. But be confident, know what you're buying and I'm sure you'll work things out for the better.

Unless you know what he desires or needs, give him a store gift certificate or take him out to a restaurant and treat him to a meal.
