Women, when are the following items appropriate for a man to give to a gf/date/lover?

Matt

Im currently doing research on what women enjoy receiving, as gifts, over the timeline of a relationship. So I'm going to post a list of gift ideas (feel free to add to it) and i want your opinions as to when each is appropriate to be given. Here's a list:

1. Silver/gold Jewelry ($50 - $499)

2. Candies/sweets ($1 - $25)

3. Poetry found (written by others)

4. Self written poetry

5. Love letters

6. Paying for dinner (partial or full)

7. Flowers ($5 - $100)

8. Clothing $1- $100 (outermost layers of clothing - shirts/pants/sweaters/shoes)

9. Stuffed animals ($1 - $50)

10. Perfumes ($20 - $100)

11. Diamond/gem jewelry ($500+)

12. lingerie/underwear

13. Makeup

14. Designer Clothing ($100+)

15. Spa package

etc. You get the idea. When are they appropiate? when would be too soon? what would you like most? What would it mean to you? etc. All comments are appreciated.

Answer
1. Silver/gold Jewelry ($50 - $499):maybe in the first few weeks

2. Candies/sweets ($1 - $25):maybe in the first few weeks

3. Poetry found (written by others): after the first few months

4. Self written poetry: first few months

5. Love letters:after a year

6. Paying for dinner (partial or full):you gotta do that from the first date dude.

7. Flowers ($5 - $100): maybe y'alls first valentines day together

8. Clothing $1- $100 (outermost layers of clothing -after 2 years shirts/pants/sweaters/shoes)

9. Stuffed animals ($1 - $50)first valentines day

10. Perfumes ($20 - $100)after a few months

11. Diamond/gem jewelry ($500+): a few years

12. lingerie/underwear:when you're married

13. Makeup: never (it tells them that they aren't pretty so they need makeup)

14. Designer Clothing ($100+):after a few years

15. Spa package: 1st anniversary

Answer
1. Women who label other women as sIuts because they're pretty.

2. Women who label other women as sIuts because they actually enjoy sex.

3. Women who label other women as sIuts just because.

4. Women who say things like,"Eww.. I don't want to have a daughter because girls are so much easier to raise".

5. Women who say things like, "Ewww...I don't hang out with girls because they're so catty and jealous".

6. Women like Brooke Hogan who imply that females should not be in politics because they get PMS (because we all know that 61-year-old Hilary Clinton is REALLY dealing with PMS).

7. Women who call other women b!tches just for fun.

8. The entire cast of every season of "The Bad Girls Club".

9. Women who seek spousal support because, God forbid they work to maintain their own lifestyle.

10. Women who brazenly go up to guys in clubs and say, "Buy me a drink?" Either buy your own drinks or let somone offer to buy you one.

11. Women who expect gifts for anniversaries, Valentine's Day, birthdays and Christmas, but don't buy their partners anything in return.

12. Women who get mad because a guy won't hop out of his seat for them.

Voice of Reality: I didn't realize that it was 'whimsical' to call members of your own gender b!tches and sIuts just because you don't like them. What you don't realize is that, things that seem petty to you, escalate into women not voting for another woman because, "She's too pretty", or women treating their daughters llike crap because of their own innate hatred of their own gender.

Although, I do agree that RADICAL feminists are quite chauvinistic.

I wanna buy a charm bracelet for an amazing woman?

Mario

I have been with this amazing woman for over 5 years now. I know she doesn't like flashy jewelry and a charm bracelet is far from that, but I think it will be a good anniversary gift with charms of all the great times we have spent together over the past few years. Now to my main question, what is a good charm bracelet that is sturdy and will last a long time, and what i mean by that is nothing that is flimsy or super thin. I would like a sturdy bracelet that can hold a lot of charms and last for the years to come but at the same time don't wanna spend more than $150 on the bracelet it self or if some are better that i should look into that are more expensive then that's fine. Please help I'm trying to keep this a secret from her and my friends always have a way of spilling the beans. I want to surprise her with something nice and I think this should be able to do the trick.

Would it be weird to have a vow renewal at nine years?

Victoria

My husband and I got married when we were 18 at the courthouse and had a reception 7 months later! It was a VERY NICE gesture from my in laws but wasn't at all what my husband and I had wanted. I am not in any way complaining on what my in laws did for us, but every woman dreams of the big wedding. I wore a simple white dress and we had a cake, with gifts, and dancing of course. Next year my husband and I will be married for nine years and together for 10! We have a daughter who is three, and would really love to have a vow renewal, since I believe that is what it is called. Would it be weird to actually buy a wedding dress and get married through the church? We don't want maybe but 50-70 people there..close relatives. And have a small party after wards. The reason why we are planning it for next year is because I will be really busy in school the next two years after that and I don't want anything to be rushed like before.

Answer
A vow renewal is not the same as a wedding. Yes, I would find it weird if you were to wear a wedding dress, walk down the church aisle, recite traditional wedding vows, and have a reception type party to follow. Since you have been husband and wife for nine years, the time to play bride and groom has long passed.

Typically, a vow renewal is a low key event, usually with just family and close friends. Most vow renewals occur on big anniversaries like the 10th or 25th. However, it would not be a crime for you to do yours on the 9th anniversary. The only social faux pas would be to have it like a wedding "redo." Move on with your life.

My husband and i have had some issues in the past with me trusting him, i am now getting over it and trying to move on, what can i do to make our communication better, as well as control the arguing...ANy help would be great. Also what does the bible say abt the woman's role in marriage?

Answer
I understand... How ever to Forgive, you also will need to let go of it. Why contiune to dewl on it when inside it causes you added stress.

Try going to church, it will help, TRUST me. Ive already went through this.

READ the Word daily it WILL HELP, however, the enemy will strike at you and try to seperate you from your husband.
GOOD LUCK!!

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (NIV)

1.Encourage your spouse to be their best without belittling them for things you wish they would do better.
2. Never stop playing together. A good pillow fight or being dumped in a pool by your spouse just might start a healing.
3. Purpose to grow old together. Many couples by not purposing to grow together, grow apart. That couple in the mall, purposed to be there together.
4. Live as if today was your last day on earth. That will bring about a greater appreciation for your relationship. I got that revelation on 9-11. There was so much choas in our city that day and I could not find my husband. Cell phones were deluged so I could not get a call through and all offices downtown had been evacuated. It was a mess. I remembered that moring being upset with him about something and had left the house without saying a kind word. So when I could not find him I was a greivous mess. If he had gotten hurt or was in an accident due to all the choas, I would have died. That day taught me that life is to short not to enjoy your spouse and never leave without a blessing. So from that day til now my life has changed and I never leave him without a kind word.
5. Purpose to outdo them in good actions even if they act a fool. I just believe that eventually it will pay off.
6. Always tell them you love them, especially when they make you mad.
7. Keep folks out of your marrige.
8. Never miss a birthday or anniversary.
9. Interrupt your year with random gifts. It can be as simple as a love card or as elaborate as a vacation. The more interruptions the better.
10. Thank God for your spouse and ask him to help you deal with them with all of their idosyncracies. In marriage, itâs like what Forrest Gump said, life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you get. There are so many hidden mysteries to your spouse, that is why God gave you a lifetime to figure it out.
