What are some awesome gift ideas for a woman in her early 20's?

Q. I need your help...
It's my best friend's birthday and I want to get her something different than usual. She has an outgoing party girl personality, with a love of animals. She's 23.
What I'm looking for:
*Any helpful websites or gift ideas
*Something unique
*$50 or under
I got her an animal calender before, I was thinking more along the lines of studded heart shaped sunglasses-something funky
Great idea with the heels, she'd love that

Answer
Your friend will love whatever you give her because it will come from the heart. Women her age love so many things so I don't think you can go wrong with what you get her. I love jewelry, clothes, perfume, gift cards, etc. The sunglasses sound like a great idea. I love sunglasses. I can never have too many pairs.

Have some good Christmas gift ideas?

I am drawing a blank on this one. For grandparents, 16 yr old girl, 14 yr old boy 23-50 yr men, and 42-48 yr women. Any gift ideas on these age groups and gender for my family?

Answer
When I'm in a jam for an idea, I make a gift "basket". This basket can be a little bucket, a cleaning supply caddy, a small trashcan, storage container, or an actual basket. For guys, one year, I bought a bunch of small(bigger than a shoebox)rubbermaid containers. I put balled up tissue paper in the bottom and started to fill with all kinds of guy things. Examples, small aerosol cans of WD-40, packages of disposable razors, Armor wipes for their car interiors, you get the idea. Arrange all this to sit up and look nice, sprinkle hard candy around. You can get shrink wrap from most craft stores. Simply tape the wrap under the bottom of the "basket" and shrink it with your hair blower. It looks so professional. For the younger folks, fill the container with microwave popcorn packs, paper plates, blank cd's, drink boxes, small packages of peanuts, note pads, a roll of nickles, etc. Disposable cameras and small photo albums are nice to include in any of the baskets. The dollar store is a great place for this type of thing. Make sure you place paper in the bottom of your containers, it has a better look if everything is sitting up. For adult couples, I take a basket or small metal bucket and place a bottle of wine or sparkling wine in the center. On each side I place two nice wine glasses. Add some packaged cheese spreads, crackers, summer sausage, sprinkle with hard candies (pretty ones like Werthers or strawberry). Don't forget the small paper plates and matching napkins. When I give this gift at Christmas, I tell them it's their New Years Eve Celebration in a bucket. When making a lot of these things, you can buy items in bulk and create a lot of gifts for a very little price.

Good gift ideas for 20-somethings?

keyz

I have 4 daughters. All are in their 20s. Two are in college full time. One is teaching at university level, working to get her PhD. One works full time but not going to school right now.

I need some good gift ideas for young women in their 20s for Christmas. I usually give them some cash or gift cards but also like to buy them a small (inexpensive, usually under $50) gift that they would like but can't afford (last year for one of them it was a small bottle of their favorite perfume).

Since each of them doesn't make a lot of money right now, I like to give them something they ordinarily can't buy for themselves now...maybe some small luxury.

They all like to read. So are there any good book ideas that would interest someone in their 20s?

Any ideas?
Yes, I know them very well LOL. But I'm not their age and they don't live with me. I want to surprise them with something different and nice. I think if I heard different suggestions from people their age, I might be able to get a good feel for something nice and unexpected to get them.

Answer
A gift certificate for a massage or facial. Go to spafinder.com and purchase the gift certificate from there. Spa finder works with many spas throughout the country in all price ranges, they can pick any spa they would like and a few spas $50 will cover most of the massage.

Need suggestions for 30th Birthday Gift for woman??

bobco303

My Maid of Honor is turning 30 in July. Any suggestions on gifts under $50? I'm really not a gift card kind of person but if it is the right one, I will do it.

She is a mother of two.

Thanks

Answer
Buy her a gift visit to a day spa where she can get a facial and a massage and whatever other things they do for people at spas. If that costs more than $50, buy her a gift certificate for a massage at a ladies' spa.

Answer
I have yet to meet a woman of any age who was disappointed to get a Gift Certificate to a local Spa and/or Salon.

what is a good mothers day gift for under $50.00?

Sarah M

my siblings and I have all pitched in about 16 dollars each and ended up with 50 dollars to spend on a mothers day gift but we have no clue what to get her
thanks for the answers !

Answer
The cost is not an issue. $50 is a good amount, but get her
something she will use. Make the gift VERY PERSONAL. Look around her bedroom, bathroom or home for things that she already USES and get her more of those. For example, if she has a magazine subscription, check the expiration date and extend it. If her bedroom slippers (or bathrobe) look worn, see if you can find her a new pair like the ones she has. If she uses a certain facial cream/lotion, then get her a gift box of the kind she uses. If you see her reading a book by a certain author, then buy their newest book (if she hasn't already read it). If she has her hair (or nails) done every week by the same person, pay for a month of stylings.

Here's a secret about women (and mothers), we like to know that you pay attention and WERE THINKING about us when we weren't around. Women feel very loved when the people they love give microscopic (notice the little things) attention to them. For women (mothers) it's THE LITTLE THINGS THAT COUNT THE MOST.

My mother was a nurse. I remember that she used to complain because she couldn't always find the type of white stockings she liked to wear to work (because they were comfortable). For her birthday one year I bought her 20 pairs of the kind that she liked. That was her favorite gift from me EVER

I just found out that one of the women I work with is unable to provide her three children, all under the age of 8, with any Christmas gifts. My husband and I are discussing giving her an anonymous gift of a gift card to ToysRUs. What do you think would be a fair amount to give? We don't have alot but we have some extra cash...any ideas?

Answer
Maybe $50 for each child? That seems to be enough to buy one or two gifts for each child (if you can afford that). If $50 a child is too steep, maybe $30 for each child. I'm sure anything you can give they will be appreciative of.

It's so nice to see someone caring for others in need. God bless you.

Should I pay someone to get traffic to my online business?

martin h

I have a very small business on the internet selling hand-drawn portraits. I only need about 2 or 3 orders a day, which I calculate would require about 8,000 unique visitors per week to my site. Some companies offer to send traffic to your site for as little as 50 dollars. I have very little money to spend on advertising, and I don't know if it would be possible to get thousands of hits without paying for advertising or professional internet marketers. What would you do in this situation?

Answer
Most of those companies are shills who will gladly take your money and drive a slew of useless traffic at your site. You may get that 8,000 visits a day, but you won't have the conversion rates you need to get the orders you want.

Worse yet, if one of the main search engines identifies the site of that company as selling that traffic as a "Link farm" their traffic will drop due to reduced search result ranking.

Here are some better options:

Watermark any images you put online so it's harder for people to steal them and claim they're their own.

Create or participate in a Yahoo Group about the kind of art you do. Use your site URL in your profile and use an @yourdomain e-mail address for the account.

Place ads in the appropriate areas of free sites like craigslist.

Sign up for a Google Analytics account and use the tools it offers to examine your site and see what you can do to optimize your site.

Create an XML site map and link to it appropriately from your robots.txt

Read the guidelines from the big search engines like Yahoo, Google and MSN to see how you can build the site to better fit the kind of site they WANT to index. This is a good idea, because those guidelines are a blueprint for techniques that search engines SUPPORT.

Buy some Google Adwords. If you've already optimized the site and you pick good adwords, you'll see a higher conversion rate than two to three orders out of 8,000 visitors

Offer Valentine's Day discounts under the condition the orders are placed before a certain date.

Post pages from your site to places like Digg and del.icio.us

Advertise Burlesque portraits as a gift for a woman to give her man.

Do a few "Traffic Draw" portraits. Foe example, do a burlesque of Deanna Trio from Star Trek and post it to Digg.com. Depict a sports hero in a Romanesque or Gladiatorial pose and post it to a forum for fans of the sports star's team.

Design an attractive t-shirt that advertises your site, get it printed and wear it around town.

If you drive, put the URL on a bumper sticker and slap it on your car.

You're on a budget, there's no reason to cough up cash when there are so many free or low cost advertising options out there.

and is it a store that sells bridge, budget, designer..? what do you guys think?
how would you describe the woman that wears the apparel and buys its merchandise?

this is for a market research project i am doing for the store and i want some input from what others say.

Answer
What you need to do is go to one or more of their stores, and ask the customers themselves - it's their opinion that matters, not ours. Create and hand out a simple questionairre. For better chances of getting them back, offer a small reward for doing so - maybe a 5 dollar gift card or something.

Examples of questions you might ask

1 How would you describe yourself
A) trendy
B) traditional
C) eclectic
D) status conscious
E) price conscious
F) Other: describe

2) How often do you shop at anthropologie?

3) How much do you usually spend when you shop here?

4) Are you shopping here for yourself, or for someone else?

4) What is your age:
15-20
21-29
30-35
