Corkscrews. Something decorative and fun makes for a good gift, but something useable might be a better idea. What are some good gift ideas for a pregnant woman stuck at the hospital for 2+ weeks?

My boyfriend's brother's girlfriend is almost 33 weeks pregnant with twins and she's had a lot of issues so far. She has pre-eclampsia, liver issues, etc. So the hospital is her new home until her babies are born.

I went and visited her today and I honestly don't see how she isn't going stir crazy. I want to get her a little (or big!) gift basket of things to keep her entertained.

So far all I can think of is magazines, word searches, etc. Any other ideas?

Oooh that's a tough one. I would suggest that you take her for a couple trips(covertly) to the mall. Do some strolling around and casually stop at a couple jewelry stores and browse a little. Pay very close attention to her likes and dislikes in styles, materials and stones. Maybe even ask a few questions but be very careful not to tip your hand(women are extremely smart when it comes to this stuff) After a couple trips you should be able to get a good idea of what she would really like. If you are successful you will enjoy the effort that you put into this. If not at least you've given it your best

What would be a good gift for a sewing teacher?

I started taking sewing lessons with a woman last year. She has been so nice and generous, plus I've learned a lot. Her birthday is coming up next month so I want to get her a gift.

She already has an entire library of sewing/quilting books and patterns, so I don't think she needs any more of those. And it can't be anything too expensive (like a brand new sewing machine, of course). What would be a nice gift for her?
