Gift cards are a lame cop out for a gift in a situation like this. Put some thought into it! Make her a "themed gift" For instance, she likes cookings & cook books. Get her an inexpensive cookie cookbook, some gourmet indgrediants, some nicer utensils, a cookie jar, over mits, an apron, anything to do with baking. You could get really creative and do a french baking gift. Go to places like harry & David, le gourmet chef, even target has some nice quality baking items. You can even make the box part of the gift- use a baking pan as the basket and uses that colored plastic wrap to keep it all together.

I have a Vanilla Visa Gift Card for 25 dollars. Every time I try to buy something online with it, it gets rejected. I tried calling the number on the back but there was no option to activate it. What is going on?

talk to customer service. the card has possibly expired - some are notorious for this, leaving the cardholder in the lurch. good luck.

thats called being a cheap skate. why bother doing it if you are looking for reimbursement, you might as well take the receipt to your Accounts Payable and have them pay u back....geez!
