Should I bring a gift for a retirement?

Nicole

I worked with a woman for six years as an assistant teacher, and she's now retiring. Should I bring a gift to her reception? Flowers? A gift card? I'm not sure if its expected.

Answer
Flowers are fine for a retirement gift, but check with the other
teachers make sure they aren't donating towards a larger gift.

Poll: What is a good retirement gift?

Q. I am going to a retirement party on Sunday honoring two people.

One is my daughter's Grandmother who is retiring from 30+ years of teaching.

The other one is a woman who was an aid at the school for over 20 years.

I do not want to spend more then $40 on both gifts!

Answer
Well, retirement to me means relaxation so an idea I have would be to make them both gift baskets ........ fill the baskets with things that would pamper them and relax them ...... they have worked alot of years so let them relax now ...... things like spa slippers, hand lotion, bath salts, shower gel, loofah, wooden hand massager, and maybe some nice chocolate ....... nothing relaxes us as much as some nice chocolate .......
