My boyfriend is turning 21 in october and is planning a trip to las vegas to celebrate (it will be just the two of us). I'm planning on giving him one gift a day for a week until his actual birthday. They're small things, not that expensive ($10-15) but I know he'll like them. I did buy a sexy lingerie set for him and I'm also paying for a little bit of the trip and giving him money to gamble with.
So what I need is a sentimental gift to give him as well. I've been trying to think of something cute, but not way over the top that he would like. Scrapbooks, picture frames, jewelry and poems are out of the question, they totally do not fit his style. Someone mentioned engraving a Zippo for him, which is an ok idea. He doesn't smoke but he is a bit of a pyro :) If I do get him that what should I have engraved that he wouldn't be embarrassed about when he pulls it out to use in front of his friends? I just want a gift that is simple and cute, not gushy. Does anyone have any ideas?

I like the gift a day idea, it sounds like Hanukkah, and takes more effort on your part than one "big" gift. Because you don't say anything about his interests, it is hard to give a good answer to this, but here's my thoughts----pretty clearly he is not someone comfortable with "girlie" sentimentality, so no, you don't want to send him flowers at work, or give him a piece of jewelry he will cringe to wear on the obligatory time he wears it to show you he likes it when he doesn't.
It sounds to me as if you have put a lot of thought, and thoughtfulness into this already. Hope he is worthy of it! (Believe me, all the guys reading this are thinking how lucky he is and wondering what the lingerie looks like when "filled".
So I'm gonna dive into the evil grown-up side of myself and tell you that the best gift you can give the boy on his 21st is to make sure he lives to add some decades to that. In other words, don't be stupid and let the bartenders get him so drunk he doesn't remember it the following day, or lack a following day entirely....thus, either make sure he knows what night he gets to see that lingerie, and be his designated driver, or do your partying at the same hotel or casino you are staying in, or get a limo. (Expensive, but kind of classy and memorable, so it might be a very sentimental gift, as you look back at the photos, and have the other Vegasites thinking you are Rock Stars.)

You really do only turn 21 once---but---if you never turn 22, it doesn't seem to matter much what sort of wild fun you thought you were having at the time.
