gift for women delivery image

I am trying to gather ideas for our department, about 18 women, to give her for a housewarming gift when she moves back into her newly rebuilt home. We were thinking of a laundry basket filled with household type items, like tin foil, paper towels, cleaning products, etc...Any suggestions?

I think yours is a great idea. It's stuff that every one needs. Also some Bath towels/washcloths, a welcome mat, mailbox. Even a subscription to a magazine is a nice touch to throw in. How about some coupons for delivery pizza. You could include a gift card to Target or Lowes. That way she can go pick up some stuff that she might need, but didn't get.

What would be a thoughtful gift for a first-time new mom that is not baby-related?

My dear friend is about to have her first baby. I have a few traditional baby gifts (onesies, flowers, etc.) but would also like to include a small, thoughtful gift just for her to enjoy after the birth. I have done some research online and found chocolate to be a consistent suggestion, but I would like one other small item as well.
I do not live in her area (or even in that part of the country), so gift certificates to a spa or favorite restaurant with delivery is not really an option that feel comfortable to me since I do not know the neighborhood. Donating my time to help her out is also an unfortunate impossibility.
Any ideas? I have around a $10-15 budget. Thanks everyone!

A book or movie. Chocolate is fine when breastfeeding. Some people go way overboard with "omg u can't eat that" for pregnant and nursing women.
